Drugs in Mastic

Brian Balzer was 22 years old in October 2009 when his grandfather found him dead in his home. A former varsity baseball player at William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, Balzer died of a heroin overdose.

His parents, Cindy and Ed Balzer, will be speaking to what officials in the William Floyd HS brookhaven District hope will be a packed auditorium next week to prevent young people from meeting the same end as their son.

I think part of the problem is living in mastic honestly.

They were just talking about that young lady that overdosed in Seaford of heroin a year or so ago. It is consuming the young people of Long Island.

If these idiots used their energy for something constructive, other then bashing every forum no matter the community they could help make a difference.

What a waste of flesh these coward posters are.

Hello my name is ignorance! Lets ignore those who try to do something positive and hop on my bandwagon and forget that drugs is an issuse all over. lets ignore that heroin and drug abuse is in every town. lets ignore the fact that wherever there is more money theres more pocket for more drug expense! nooo, this is not an epidemic. Its only in bad neighborhoods like mastic, and shirley. Lets point fingers at other towns and pretend that centereach is that much better!!!....?

The fact of the matter is the affluent towns have a much worse problem for a lot of the children with parents that aren't in touch with their children.

There is more money accessible for drugs and alcohol. When these kids get busted it can be hush hushed and the kids put into private facilities to treat the kids.

Drugs are everywhere. Anyone who doesn't realize that either has their head up they're a$$ or they just like to stir up sh!t.

And these idiots do bounce from forum to forum spewing senseless bullish!t.

The internet has given the idiots center stage without them having to come out in public and face the people they sling mud at.

The perfect environment for a coward to hide from more superior people.
