Centerburg should move forward with this, it would help the town to grow and maintain itself. Used to live near here, a wonderful place to live...

Townships as a form of goverment should be eliminated it is a form of goverment needed when travel to the county seat was difficult. This should be a county and village issue only. Less then half the states in the country still have this extra form of goverment which is just another layer not needed in todays modern world

Just so long as there is more government, then I am in favor of this.

Why does Ohio need so many levels of Govt. MERGE, COMBINE SERVICES, work together to reach a common goal. No more of this 20 police and Fire Depts in a Single County.

I agree with "oh boy". lets get rid of all township form of governments and let the counties take over their duties and/or be annexed into a village or city. Here in Licking County we have 25 townships which means we have 75 trustees and 25 fiscal clerks drawing salaries and benefits in the thousands of dollars for part-time jobs. What a waste.

Do not feel too sorry for Hilliar Township. Their current administrator sued the Village 4 years ago over a property next to her house that was annexed into the village. She eventually put the only local homebuilder out of business over this issue. At the time she had the support of two or the three township trustees. The township needs to be eliminated. There are simply too many feeding at the trough over a small area.

School districts, in my opinion, are far worse than townships. They are top heavy and bloated. Ohio needs to consolidate school districts and reduce the burden on taxpayers.

I think townships are good for fire/EMS services and zoning. In Delaware County, for example, the townships provide a lot of services.

This services can just as easily, cheaper and more efficiently be provided by the counties.
