To the true graduates of the Centerburg High School Class of 2009 I say "Congratulations! You have earned it!" To the cheaters and those who kept quiet I say "Shame on you!" You have diminished yourselves, your school and those few classmates who were not involved. To the people who don't know the difference between earning and stealing or don't care I say "Shame on you as well!"

So the dispatch reporter saw every thing talked to everyone, but didn't bother to take a picture to publish with the story. Talk about adding insult to injury.

My Granddaughter graduated today amid all of her friends and family
and the people in the town where her Great Grandparents went to
school. She is the 6th generation to graduate from Centerburg. In most
of the articles I have read, they fail to mention that this cheating took
place in early January. Don't you think that the teachers and administrators could have settled this in a more appropriate way. Thank
Goodness for the kind hearted that do not punish the innocent for what
the guilty have done. Congratulations Class of Centerburg 2009.

Sahme on the school board if it has taken them this long to figure it out. If I was a parent in Centerberg, I would either sue the school board or move out of the distric. I'm sure the ACLU would step in becaues someones civil rights have been violated here.

Let me start by saying, I don't condone cheating--if students knew about it they should be punished ONLY if the School Board had policies that called for such a draconian punishment. Given the nature of the investigation by the way it was portrayed in the media--I highly doubt that the brain trust that makes up the Centerburg School Bd had the foresight to set up such a policy. So they basically punished the kids that didn't know about the cheating with those that did. That basically shows laziness on the part of the Board, the superintendent and the principal. The punishment should fit the crime and we don't go punishing the innocent because we are too lazy to go after the just the guilty. to the new graduates of Centerburg HS--the filing deadline for School Bd may be in Aug or you could run as a write in--some seats may be open!!! Think about it

What an encouraging story. The people of Centerburg were independent enough to ignore the little despots at the government school and conduct the graduation ceremony themselves. I applaud them all. A pox on the school employees.

If Centerburg residents don't gather a petition to oust the Superintendent they should just NEVER complain again. I would not be surprised if this woman doesn't just announce her retirement to save face. School Board must have been stoned or drunk to go along with her.

So people were cheering for what? That they cheated and can still have a ceremony! Way to go!!!
The ones that cheated, if they had any guts, like they seemed to show they had by stealing, should of manned up and admitted their participation! What kind of people are these that actually think it was okay to be a part of that ceremony????? Absolutely PATHETIC!!! If this is what our future has to look forward to:liars, cheaters and thieves then I am very afraid for the future of our country!!!!
