Let me be the first to say that I will be voting for the school board this year. The Mount Vernon News reported that Leroy Bumpus, Roger Clark, and Ron Ross are all up for re-election. These are the characters we need to remove. We need fresh faces with realistic views to oversee our schools so nobody else feels the way I did when they cancelled graduation.

So what if they run un-opposed? You're stuck!

If you have all the answers feel free to run for the Board. It is easy to find fault and complain when you don't have to answer to anyone.

Ummm...just out of curiousity, what do Danville and Mount Vernon have to do with Centerburg? Aren't they separate districts? Or does Knox County have one school board for the county or something like that?

Please clarify if you would.

But if they did have anything to do with cancelling the graduation, I will be happy to come over and make signs for whoever is running against them, even though I don't live in Knox County. What that school board did was wrong...innocent until proven guilty.

I wonder if John Morgan's middle name is Adolf...

I don't live in Centerburg but I think it's great to see political process in action, and I hope all three are voted out. Let me know if any of the people running against them need some free campaign help - I live less than an hour away...

There are 4 running, Jason Rogers, Shaun Christy, Terry Lewis and Nicole McVickers. We have several opportunities for the public to meet them, watch the paper.

It's a year later and I'm still MAD. My daughter graduated from (if you can call it that) CHS last June. The juniors involved in the cheating last year, just got to walk across the stage in a normal graduation. My daughter went to KCCC - she is 100% proven innocent of the cheating incidents, yet had a milestone taken from her life and she never heard her academic scholarship to Ohio Dominican, announced over a loud speaker. Shame on the Centerburg Board. One of the members daughters walked this year - would things have been handled differently if she had graduated last year? You have to wonder. BTW - I run a community school in Columbus - the majority of this board does not have an educational background. I love small town living, but I want nothing to do with Centerburg - they stole from my child, which is no different than the students who stole the tests. As far as their computer system - they have to follow ODE compliance, but apparently like the juniors involved, they do not have to take any responsibility or deal with any repercussions.

I think we need new board members in the R-1 school area. When the teachers and staff are more afraid of the students and refuse to stand up for what is right, then something needs to be done. An incident took place where a student had been wrote up several times and a staff person was suspended for it, What's wrong here??? Seems like the school is being bullied by the students and they are winning,(the students. If i had been wrote up just once when i was in school, my dad would have took charge of my rear-end and there wouldn't have been any more problem out of me....enough said.

When did this allegedly happen and who is the teacher. I have four children who attend Centerburg, and this is the first I have heard.
There were four who ran a couple years ago and only one was voted in to serve. The board has only gotten worse and with Lambert as President, it is a joke. He works at the school, which is a conflict and is not allowed. Why no one has turned him in is always a question. The superintendent is paid a ridiculous salary and needs to be put out to pasture. The board votes her back in each time because she does what they say. She has no backbone and can't remember what is even going on in the school. I hope by the time my youngest reaches the middle/high school things will be changed. Most of us just let the poop roll down the hill because it is difficult to make changes. I absolutly disagree on the students running the show. The nepotism is what runs the school and the bullies are some of the board members.
