I think it all depends on what his intentions were. Either way it was still VERY wrong and he should have known better and that there are other ways to handle these situations. I think that if he were protecting himself though it makes it a slightly different situation than if he were intending to attack someone with the gun.

OOOOOOOH NOOOOOOOO!!!!you don't take a gun to school for protection.Thats like taking a gun in to the police station because your afraid of police brutality.
there is NO excuse for this.

very good point Peg. I knew that part and of course it is wrong and there is no excuse. I was saying that Im just glad it was only for protection and that he wasn't one of those kids that was intentionally going to shoot someone just because.

sodapop,I see what you are getting at but he DID intend to use it....on someone.Even if it was someone outside of the school..he intended to use it.Otherwise he would not have been carrying a fully loaded weapon.

I agree with you totally. Why should certain kids be treated special? Well, they shouldn't. Oh, and by the way your name is so cool. I have never seen another Allyson with their name spelt like ours.

there we go again lib's at work. He did't mean anything by what he did so just slap him on the wrist and let him back in school. My kids all grew up with guns in home they knew better to touch them told them you could loose some finger if you even look to hard at them

By certain kids do mean black, asian, hispanic, or maybe with disabilities. I know those certain kids are not like ours! I hope that tiny protected world you live in never gets invaded by those certain kids. Have you ever heard of the KKK or the Nazis they talk about those certain races? Talk and thoughts like this are much more damaging to our kids than any gun.
I'm not saying the student was right but they should not be judged by a group that lives a lily white sheltered world.
It is so cute that you that you found another Allyson, stick with that topic, it fits your mindset.

I think she may have included the "lily white sheltered world" also. I have an idea she may be a young woman that is unaware of discrimination. Not sure what exactly she was refering to , but I don't think it was in your area of judgement, I mean thinking.
