What is wrong with the leaders in this village? They rope off sections of marina 1 NOW THAT THEY ARE READY TO OPEN IT? Public safety? Code violations? THERE ARE NO CODE VIOLATIONS! The village has NO codes for marinas! What exactly is the problem? Oh right, the village can't legally steal the marinas so they will try and keep the MBPOA from opening the marinas in hopes of keeping people away!
They say it's from damage from Sandy? Why wait until now to rope it off? Wy not MONTHS ago when they were inspecting all the homes? AND THERE IS NO DAMAGE! Not a single board is missing and the board walk is completely secure. This is just Gary trying to get more boats in HIS marina and make MORE MONEY for himself! You all think this guy ISN'T a crook? This is just one more instance where Gary is more concerned with his wallet then the residents. When this goes to court, and it will, I hope the judge throws this out and forces the village to pay restitution for lost revenue and lawyer exsepences. Oh right, the MBPOA doesn't spend my tax dollars on this! The village leaders and their cronies are nothing but thugs and bullies! And they want to get paid for this kind of thuggish behavior?

it's another example of an old grudge versus reality. if there were multiple code violations, then why were no tickets issued? why wait 6 months after the storm? the code enforcement guys eat lunch there every day. they just noticed on Saturday? Seems more like a way to screw with MBPOA.

There are tickets issued. Legally "steal" the marinas? It is in the deeds that when and if MB becomes a Village, the MBPOA must hand over the marinas and clubhouse. Thats legally. Do not twist the truth. The bull sh*t you people spew is amazing....Talk about hate ...

Talk about lies lies lies. If MB becomes a village. You wanted mb and Shirley to become a village. Courts frown on little LEGAL issues like that. The village doesn't NOT own them, there were NEVER any "code violations"issued, therefor, the village should stay off private property any STFU to coin a phrase in your own words.
IF the village gets them, fine. Until then, the village can suck it.

I can't wait for the judge to decide on who gets the waterfront, marinas and clubhouse, personally I hope the village gets the property so they can open it to everyone, not just club members. But either way I would love for this fight to be over.

so, you don't think the village will force you to join as a member and pay more? OOOOKKKKaaayyyyy. Just like everything else with the village, I'm sure it will be free and run by volunteers.

Oh, BTW, to join the MBPOA is 35 dollars a year. Slips are less than 700 dollars for the entire summer. I dare you to find one cheaper on Long Island.

The village will fcuk it up like every thing else they touch. But yes, I agree. I wish the village would stop wasting my tax dollars on this lawsuit.

if that's what you think, then you have never bothered to read village codes.

here is the code

520-1 Permit required for use.

Chapter 520: WATERWAYS AND WATERCRAFT
Article I: Docks
520-1 Permit required for use.
520-2 Littering prohibited.
520-3 Dock use.
520-1 Permit required for use.
Except as hereinafter provided, no person shall use any dock owned and maintained by the Village of Mastic Beach except by permit from the Board of Trustees and subject to such rules in regard to use thereof as the Board of Trustees may establish from time to time.

guess what permits cost MONEY.

i thought that the village said the marinas would be for the people? why would we need a permit to use public property? i guess the only people they were concerned about were themselves.

I remember needing a window sticker to go to TOB parks, could be MBV sticker or card is all that would be needed. Lighten up, Judge Jerry allowed the MBPOA more time to amend their pleadings...thinking the addition of a few streets in Shirley negates the deed's original intent.

I think they would be better served to use the unjust enrichment doctorine arguing the enhancements to the properties over many decades would need to be repaid to the MBPOA. But I still hope the judge lets the MBPOA keep the status quo. Unfortunately, my opinion has no weight.

.its not as innocent as you make it out to be. The MBPOA is set to open the marinas in a few weeks and the village is doing this now to keep them from opening. Their thought is they will lose a lot money if they can't open and hopefully they will lose membership as well. This is nothing but pure harassment and thuggish tactics. I find it appaling that one of the marinas in MB that is in completion is owned by the deputy mayor. This is not a coincidence.
If the village continued with this, it just proves why a village was formed. To destroy the MBPOA, nothing else.

I sure come across as harassment considering code enforcement ignores an apparent slum house at 106 Cranberry, and when an ally of the wet dream vision team was doing some illegal construction on Riveria I believe.

I think that the MBPOA should just occupy the slips in question. We are the 99%.. MBPOA says it all Mastic Beach... Not Shirley not Mastic.. While you argue that they are small sticking points or whatever.. Have you talked to a lawyer recently? The minute details are important. If the deed or whatever you want to call the document that transfers ownership to the village. If it says Mastic Beach, and a town is defined as a zip code, then the village is screwed.... The devil is in the details...

Later bitches..

While I hope you are right about the "technicalities" of what defines Mastic Beach, I was just wondering what part of MASTIC was included within MBV?

if the village told the mbpoa that they are not sure of the new fema regulations for rebuilding docks and making them more storm resistant, how could gary have gotten a permit to fix his? his is open because the town electrician did all of the work. were permits issued? how could this be possible?

not even close. He did have village equipment and employees there, but according to him, they didn't do any work and the equipment was never used for his personal business. I guess he just kept them there for safe keeping. It's good to be Gary.
