If I was responsible for my Partner getting shot, I wouldn't be giving "thumbs up" to the press. I'd be by my Partners bedside standing vigil praying for his recovery & forgiveness. But hey, that's me.

An Officer is responsible for his weapon at all times.

Just a clue to the clueless. The person responsible for the attempted murder of Shane Farina is not his partner but another criminal deported illegal alien from the Dominican Republic. The second responsibility goes to our our cowardly and useless Congress for not protecting the borders and not acting on illegal immigration.

Easy to say protect your weapon when you are fighting with someone trying to kill you. This is the real world and a real job without golden parachutes and not TV where a "routine" fare beat turns into a nightmare. Protect your TV remote at all times.

Maybe the perp will not make it. More hospital resources for deserving people.

All this for a discounted metro card.

People from most other countries have little to no respect for police. Their police are mediocre at best, not really sure which side they are on.

I have watched foreigners deal with police on the street, like when a cop is directing traffic. They completely ignore them. Then they also want to sue them after they drive them crazy. If I was on the jury, the sueing people would go home with NOTHING.

Newsday still doesn't get it. Although other media outlets have clearly stated that Nunez is a drug involved, previously deported illegal alien who snuck back into the country (again illegaly), Newsday after 2 days of articles will only admit to "ex-convict from the Dominican Republic".

Newsday, you have no credibility and your pro illegal agenda could not be more clear!

What the heck is all dat about? 2 cops got shot by an illegal mofo who was deported yrs ago and snuck back into the country again! Here you are coming out with this jazz. What gives?

A poster mentioned why bother with fare jumpers. Well, it's been found dat 85% of fare jumpers have warrants out on them. It's almost like the deal with getting rid of the squeegee guys first, then go on from there...
