The collars can't be removed unless you pay the DEC Collar Tax.

In April, the chance of the bay freezing over is about the same as hell freezing over. And the chance of the MBPOA looking out for your interest's is about the same. Good luck fisherman

Law suits take forever and cost a fortune. Who is paying for these law suits? Mastic Beach Village taxpayers?

What about the lawsuit with the people who were kicked out of the mbpoa and lost their docks and boatslips? I think that lawsuit will be a good indicator of how the other lawsuit to take over the marinas will go. I don't get what is taking so long to get "our" property from them. Why are we spending money to buy that little village hall when we should be having village meetings at the large clubhouse on Neighborhood road. I didn't renew my membership because I rather pay my money to the village and not a bunch of crooks.

Every year the marinas were used for the entire month of April. I know people who put their boats in the water in March. The poles got reset in March, and if you were paid up you were good to go.
It's only the last couple of years the MBPOA Directors decided the boat owners are a burden and expense to the organization. They don't want to pay the security guards unemployment, so now they won't let any boats in until after May 15th.
Now if you paid the MBPOA for a boat slip, you miss the best fishing time of the spring when the blues, stripers, weaks and flounder invade the bay.
Same on the MBPOA. Shame on you.

Well, Frank F lawsuit was tossed again, so that gives you an indication as to how much leverage they have. And yes, the docks are usually opened at the END of April, but the "villagers" need something to distract everyone from the new 4 million dollar budget, so lets all blame the MBPOA for the docks not opening.
Here's a better idea, instead of worrying about the slips not being opened from a CIVIC group, lets worry about our GOVERNMENT trying to pass a 4(+) million dollar budget that was to be around $500,000 originally.

Get over yourself. When asked if anyone would like to volunteer last year to open the slips early, NONE of you so called "do-gooders" wanted to do it! The CIVIC group is run by volunteers, so go and VOLUNTEER and maybe they can open them earlier if you would like. But no, you would rather bitch about a PRIVATE CIVIC GROUP not doing what you want.

Go to our trustee Gary Stiriz and see if HIS slips are ready yet!! Bitch to him and see if he will give you a better price than the MBPOA!! YOU PAY 35.00 A YEAR PLUS SLIP COSTS! Try to find a better price anywhere near here! You wont!! My concern is with the 4 MILLION dollar budget that King Paul is trying to force on us when we were only going to have a 500,000.00 budget! Wow, only 3.5 million off!! Shame on you Paul, shame on you!!

Volunteer? The MBPOA pays for the marinas to be opened just like the MBPOA President pays his wife 8,000 dollars a year to shuffle papers for the MBPOA. As far as the village, no increase in our tax bill except for the school taxes which are destroying us.
If I pay for a slip and can use it 30% less time because the MBPOA is too cheap to pay for security, that's not "cheap".

it is cheap. Go ask Gary to rent you a dock/slip at the same cost as the MBPOA. He isn't open yet either. It will cost you more for the same amount of time.

Oats are cheaper after they've been through the horse. At the MBPOA marinas, the electric works sometimes. The boardwalks are rotted to the point of being a safety issue. The water works sometimes. Each year the season gets shorter, and the price gets larger.
That's why I have a 17ft. center console on my trailer. I use my boat from March until December if the weather stays warm. And I don't give the MBPOA a dime.

I do not know where you get your information from, but you are ver wrong about Frank's lawsuit, in fact it is quite the opposite.

It was tossed because he could not show PROOF in the allotted time frame. Not making it up, sorry your "hero" is all hot air and lies, but that's all that you can understand apparently.
Also, you have to be more specific, he currently keeps refiling 3 lawsuits against the MBPOA and they keep getting tossed. Hopefully the MBPOA will counter sue him for court costs so he will finally stop wasting the courts time. This is what happens when you're a crotchety old man that retires, you just keep fighting with everyone because he has noting better to do. Hey Frank, go clean up your neighborhood instead of filing frivolous lawsuits against a civic group that you will NEVER win!!
