Levy rules. The fact that he is angering some idiots in the legislature demonstrates that he puts the taxpayers above the politicians. Newsday simply can't stand the fact that Levy is a man and their beloved Tom Suozzi is failure. Levy is supposed to clash with Lindsay, it is not supposed to be a situation like in Nassau, where Diane Yatauro is a captive of Tom Suozzi. Newsday wouldn't know good leadership if it bit them. I wish Steve Levy where my CE instead of Tom Suozzi. Newsday is biased on Levy issues because they supported Suozzi sycophant William Cunningham in the Democratic Primary. And please, quoting Romaine in this article. Do you think that maybe Romaine has some sour grapes over the drubbing Levy administered in the CE race?

You've GOT to be locked... Do you think you can be a legislature and not be locked... No way... being locked is the key... LOCK IT UP!!!

Suffolk residents should be very grateful they have a County Executive who is more interested in serving the residents of Suffolk County and less interested in his own personal gain. That's unusual on Long Island.
Steve levy is the real thing.

OK Mrs Levy! For someone who is supposed to live in Nassau, you sure have a lot of free time on your hands to be paying attention to Suffolk issues which don't even effect you....or maybe you're just full of it. Part of being a politician is knowing how to get along with people, which Levy cannot. Yes there must be some fiscal constraint, but Levy is a tyrant, a bully and is self serving. Watch him run Suffolk right into the ground and cause future generations to shoulder the burdens of his mistakes. It's outrageous that you can properly run a county for 6 years with not even a small tax increase. Unless you cut all necessary services. Levy must go!

I'm a Levy supporter, but he had better watch it or he'll end up facing a Democratic primary next time he runs for re-election. He's much more vulnerable than the results in 2007 would lead an a casual observer to believe.

He will be done in by his hubris and bullying nature. He does not play well with others and only has HIS best interests in mind.

levy has shown time and time again he is not mature enough to govern this county effectively. he is losing his popularity with the voters. all i ever read about more and more shootings and gang violence and levy is reducing the police force when he should be hiring. now he wants to layoff county workers, how will this help the economy?, how about laying off one of your political appointees, the county employees have to suffer, i wish somebdy would look into how many of levy's cronies have gotten jobs in the county since levy took office, lay them off, and while your at it lay yourself off. this county is going down the crapper fast. i hope our legislature stands up to levy because soon enough everybody associated with levy will be voted out...

Everyone had better wake up! When you have no services, when it is YOUR LOVED ONE who is injured or worse because there are no people to maintain the roads, no people to answer the 911 calls, no police to respond to YOUR emergency.....then please come back and tout Steve Levy...Most people do not recognize the emergency until it is THEIR emergency.

Isn't it strange that Steve Levy cannot even get along with his own party? Mr. Lindsay was an honorable man once, but since he has finally stood up to Steve Levy, he is now on Steve Levy's list...and we all know, Steve Levy will get even.

levy is the man...hands down. he defends the taxpayer and does not give in to the nonsense other pols try to pull on him. they are the bullies, not him. as a lifelong east ender, i can say levy is one of the first county executives who actually pays attention to the issues out here, after all we are the cash cow of the county, bringing in tons of tourist revenue. my vote will always go to levy.

Knowing Bill Lindsay - a true gentleman in every sense - I tend to support him in this issue. Why is it that when anyone who disagrees with Levy is branded as not being a advocate for the taxpayer? Why can't Levy see that there may be another point of view, another solution, and other ways of doing things than just his??? Bill Lindsay - you are not my representative, but I would vote for you in a second.

Levy's cutting of Suffolk social services, police OT, laying off unneeded civil servants, etc...has made this conservative very happy. Granted, he is no conservative, but when you can't distinguish the Lib Dems with the also corrupt GOP, he is welcome sight. He should not capitulate on the illegal alien question; we need to get a truck and deport. North Ocean Ave in Coram has at least 25 of them everyday loittering.

Steve Levy being a bully ?, say it isn't so !. The darling of Newsday and Channel 12 news couldn't possibly be the anti -labor, power hungry creep that this article makes him out to be...or could he?

After years and years of corruption at the hands of the Suffolk County Republicans, we are now at the hands of egomaniacal, narcisstic Democrats. It must be something in the water here.

This article clearly shows how Levy is so unattached to our community as a whole as well as with his own colleagues. He has no clue how detrimental his bully tactics really are. I remember when he first came started to campaign for office. He was so full of "promises." It seems as the years have gone by somebody who has a lot of shortcomings refuses to acknowledge that he's in over his head. All of his proposed budget cuts seriously impairs our communities as well as our economy. He keeps saying he is saving us money but just reading about his budget and policies through Newsday it is apparent that the man is not saving us any money in the long run let alone in the present. He will have us without the upstanding police officers and teachers that we have enjoyed as a privilege of Long Island before you know it. Let's get this man out of office before he becomes Long Island's very own George Bush!!!

Levy is not a jerk. He is an excellent steward of the monies Suffolk taxpayers are forced to fork over. The Legislature, whether it is under Democrat or Republican control, is a perennial loser. Jon Cooper and Bill Lindsay both reside in a fantasy land, oblivious to the economic meltdown taking place all over the world. Levy wants to cut out all the waste, all the fat, and the unnecessary programs and spending. He wants to tame the unions, especially the PBA. Every taxpayer should support him. The county nursing home? Of course it should be sold or closed.

Levy is the worst thing that happened to Suffolk County- that weasel should crawl back into the hole he came from. He is ruining our county just like the democrat in the White House is ruining the country

It funny, you get a Republican in there and everybody hates him, you get a democrat, everybody hates him. Wake up fools, if nothing else Levy has been making what may be unpopular moves, but it's in the right direction. The PBA needs a wake up call and all these usless programs need to be abolished. All depts of the county need to be reviewed and revised. I don't know about you, but I'm drowning in taxes and I don't think the police or the teachers should be complaining. We need more accountability! WHERE IS THE TAX MONEY GOING? Special interest programs that bums like Lindsay are trying to keep alive need to go. Get behind Levy and make your voices heard! Let's stop the merry go round of politics as usual!!
