Looks like Romaine fails, yet again, to get the point, and abtains (which is the voting choice of the gutless) to do something that can help his constituents. The bill is not about moving people, it's about getting homes plagued with health and safety issues fixed and resolved through town-county cooperation. If they can't get the homes fixed, THEN you move people. And it's not the be all end all solution, it's another tool in the enforcement belt. I bet Leg. Romaine's chump son on the Brookhaven town council will be against this as well and will refuse to cooperate with DSS officials - people of the 6th, take notice of how your "representative" on the council is more concerned about getting beer served at the Balloon festival to benefit his local buddies, then fixing struggling neighborhoods.

The legislature needs to stop passing laws that amount to little more than fluff.

I live in a property that a slumlord owns and also finding out that the building has 18 or more violations and fire code issues that he knowint that Licaense and inspestions is not doing their job with enforcing the violations i live in a 40 unit building everyone complains about him but too afraid to say or do something about it but im the only one who didnot stand up to this mess but instead of license and inspections getting on him, they gave the owner my name because im the only one who stood up to this issue which gave him a GOD image that he can't be touched now im being singled out as a trouble maker for doing the right thing just becuase im doing something that the other tannants are scarred to do, so if he tries to evict me that will just boost his ego that no one else will talk, i was even called a rat for this thats why L&I gave my name to the owner, So my question is who's in who's pocket?

I DO AGREE WITH TYRONE, WHEN A TENANT IS PAYING RENT HE HAS THE RIGHT TO LIVE IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS SAFE, CLEAN AND IN PROPER MAINTENANCE CONDITION. JUST BECAUSE A PERSON IS ON PUBLIC ASSISTANCE DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY SHOULD LIVE IN TERRIBLE CONDITIONS. IF THE RENTAL FACILITIES ARE RECEIVING ANY FUNDING FROM THE STATE IT IS THE STATES RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THAT THESE LANDLORDS ARE KEEPING THE PROPERTIES IN GOOD CONDITION, WHICH I FEEL IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNERS OF THE BUILDING AS WELL AS THE TENANTS
