are you really this stupid? I would believe you if the village didn't already re-zone parts of the waterfront to allow commercial development . And as we saw with the pay back to unicorn motors, the "village" can change any rules they want and do what they please despite what the residents want. I wouldn't believe Zany or anything that comes out of his mouth if my life depended on it. Remember, he lies to get his way.
And the "deed" will be thrown in the trash if the village gets the waterfront. I can't believe you would think the village WONT develop it. Why are they wasting all our tax money on a lawsuit if they plan on leaving it the way it is? Just stupid.

The Village is not wasting money, actually the MBPOA is wasting resident's money by trying to withhold the properties, which their deed clearly states must be turned over once MBV became a village.

The lawsuit has dragged along, due to insufficient discovery, claims of lost items and even a "my dog ate it". Both the Village (plaintiff) and the MBPOA (defendant) have made cross motions seeking SUMMARY JUDGEMENT. This is a procedural maneuver seeking a judicial end to the trial based on documents submitted. The Judge will likely not grant either side a decision since a trial would be more illuminating.

Meanwhile, settlement offers have been made by the MBPOA to allow them to "manage" the docks while the village gets to own them. I would doubt that offer would be accepted in light of the recently revealed OPERATING LOSSES of the MBPOA over the last 6 years.

Trial likely in April 2014.

and this is about an ambulance company?

as usual, the mbpoa is the villain. they have nothing to do with the ambulance company. also, i would bet that more than half the companies in the united states have been running at a loss for the last six years. can you spell RESESSION?

also, the village attorney is on retainer for a certain number of billable hours per year. Any extra are paid by the hour. It is readily available for anyone to read these contracts. you simply have to FOIL them. But if you do, don't hold your breath waiting for the FOILED documents. The village does not seem to care about any type of rules or regulations unless it benefits someone in their family. I have FOILED and waited, and waited, and waited, and still am waiting months later.

Don't kill the messenger...all I did was reply to the poster who said the village was wasting money by defending it's rights to the property being unlawfully withheld by the MBPOA. I don't see a thread entitled The MBPOA is wasting village tax dollars, so I comented on the post where it was stated.

Let's get back on track. The Newsday story in today's paper revealed the proposed relocation of the MB Ambulance company. They reported a possible tax increase of $60 (per year) which is $5 a month. There is no doubt the ambulance company needs larger quarters and having a new building on Neighborhood Rd that is open 24 hours would be an added bonus.

Now, here comes my rant. Why did Newsday only interview one person rather than interview possibly an Ambulance member or a village official?

And of all people, they interview Jane Powers, who owns NO Property in MBV, but was able to vote in the 2010 election even though she was not a registered voter. The voting register lists her as being in her 90's. She died in 1998, but kept voting up to 2010. And she has the nerve to say she is worried about taxes being raised $5 a month.
