Newsday

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo Sunday announced plans for a 4,400-foot-long adjustable seawall and bigger bayside bulkheads.

The wall, which can be raised to 11 feet when a storm approaches, represents the biggest part of the project using federal funds through the NY Rising rebuilding program. The barrier, known as a Dutch Dam because of its use in the Netherlands, will stretch along the Long Beach industrial area that houses critical utility operations.
The project also includes extending bayfront bulkheads to a height of 11 feet.

And yet the DEC complained about a few yards of RCA? Go figure!

What? According to Gary Stiriz the DEC OKed the fill. Wait, did Gary lie about that?
Because either the DEC OKed the fill or Gary lied. Which was it?

You are relentless...my point was according to a few people, the village almost committed murder by dropping a few buckets of RCA onto an established roadbed, but it's OK for Long Beach to add 12 foot tall bulkheads and other shore hardening structures. You will not hesitate to constantly blame Gary or anybody else associated with the village for trying to make things better. Now, please excuse me, my coffee break is over.

I just want to know if a trusted elected official for the village lied or not. This a yes or no answer. Either the DEC OKed the fill as Gary stated or they didnt and Gary lied. Which is it? Either your hero lied or he didnt. YOU brought up the roadway, not me. So which is it? Did Gary lie, yes or no? Its a simple question?

Ask him yourself big shot! I applaud all the work being done by our elected officials. Even if a few mistakes took place, big deal. It didn't cost you a dime, did it. You don't see the point I w making is it's OK for Long Beach to harden its shores but apparently they have different rules here. You can try to bring up your anti-village dogma, I won't take the bait.

Instead of trying to get an answer here, why not go to the Village Meeting tomorrow and ask Gary yourself?

Well. thats the thing. It was asked of him and he said the DEC OKed it. But yet BRADY just said that the DEC wasn't ok with it and that there was a problem. So you see, he was asked, and apparently, he lied. But none of this is new. He lies. All the time. About everything. Its OK if you want to defend him, but quit saying what a stand up honest guy he is when we all heard him say the DEC approved the illegal fill. Lies after lies after lies.

There is no "twisting" your words. Either Gary lie or he didn't. Why is that so difficult for you? Gary was asked about the DEC and their complaints about the fill that Garys FAMILY placed on Riveara Dr. Gary said the DEC approved it. As it turns out, they didn't. Now, either Gary is lying or the DEC is lying. YOU cant stand the fact that people are tired of Garys lies. And seeing as how you cant say Gary DIDN'T lie, I will take that as an admission that he DID lie. Thanks for playing "What Gary lied about this time".
Next week, "Did Gary get permits to fix his marina?". Tune in to NOT hear his answer.

From where I am standing, if you use the argument that if one person can't say someone is lying, means that person is lying, you could also say zombies aren't real because nobody has proven they exist. In Luxumborg, that argument does not work. Let them build.

Long Beach does not have wet lands that have to be protected by the DEC. There are houses and beach. There is no protection by fire Island so it is no wonder why they were the hardest hit by Sandy. By using Long Beach to justify MBV dumping RCA illegally in a protected area is absurd. That being said. A mistake was made. Fix it and move on. Come election time we will vote out the last of the vision team and put in new crooks.

guess what? the reason that long beach is getting the money and not mastic beach is the refusal of the village to work with the residents. new york rising has already said that until we can get along here we will not get the money. everybody grow up and do the right thing. not just for a few selected people in the village or the mbpoa, but for everyone. set aside lawsuits and bad feelings for a year and get the damned money. then you can all go back to being babies and fighting over every little thing.

the reason MB is not getting the money is the refusal of the MBPOA to work with the people. a lawsuit became necessary to allow the residents of MB the use of THEIR own waterfront. do what the deed says, lawsuit will be over, then funding can come into area to improve for all residents. MBPOA is holding up the works. Loss for ALL residents on all fronts.

Wow, blaming the MBPOA again for the problems of the GOVERNMENT of MB. Stop passing the blame and do what the GOVERNMENT, not a civic, should do. Take the high road, act as LEADERS and govern! Blame the POA all you want, but they arent the ones losing out on all that money. The GOVERNMENT is handing it out to other local GOVERNMENTS, not to civic groups. The vision teams hatred of the MBPOA is costing this area money. Man up and do what a GOVERNMENT should do... represent all the residents and not hold grudges. Its in the hands of the village, not a civic group.

its you're.
couldn't resist.
and no, its the GOVERNMENT! Remember, we became a GOVERNMENT! We are governed by 5 elected officials, not a civic group. If we are losing money, blame your government. Why not blame the osprey civic? Oh yeah, they dont have any property that the Deputy Mayor wants! There is only one group to blame here for the loss of the money and its not the civic group with no power.

They didnt have permission from the state to use the fill.

Gary lied about it when questioned at a village meeting.

The point isnt so much as making a mistake using the improper material; but thumbing their noses at DEC and using without permission, and then LYING about to village residents when questioned is inexcusable.

yes, thank you. This is the issue. As an elected official, you need to tell the truth. Not lie because your family member that was hired on an emergency no bid contract screwed up and dumped illegal fill in the wet lands. Admit the truth. But this current administration has a hard time telling the truth.
