Has anyone heard that the village wants to have armed Fire Marshals in the village? This is nuts, someone is going to get killed.
If they need help let them call the SCPD like every one else does.
These people are crazy.

I'm armed and GOD have mercy on the soul of anyone who tries to harm me and my family. That's the bottom line when it comes to who has firearms. If I don't kill you on the first shot, I will put a bullet in your head when you're down with the second shot. I will not hesitate or blink an eye. I hope I make myself perfectly clear to any would be scumbag in the Mastic Beach area. Is there anyone else out there who feels the same way? Speak up Mastic Beach residents.

Just one arm would be sufficient, but the story is about how the MBPOA is trying to put up another big scare that MBV is trying to establish its own police force. Nonsense! Fire Marshall's investigate arson cases.

you are correct. They were denied this a few month ago and the village is trying to have it pass again. The "fire marshal" can carry a gun and can hire as many people "as needed". Who can also carry guns and are called peace officers. Won't that be great. All the village officials who abuse their power to begin with now want to carry guns for "peace"? Can we please vote these idiots out of office at some point before someone gets killed.

yes, they tried to have this change made but new york state wouldn't let them. but, they are re-petitioning new york state again to have this become a reality. anybody who says that the village is not trying to do this simply has to go onto the nys village website and check for upcoming events in albany.

are you really denying that the village is trying to do this. I guess you aren't as close to the leaders as you believe. YES! The village IS trying to get a fire marshal that will carry a fire arm and CAN hire as many "deputies" as they want. Don't you remember Tim B going up to Albany a few months back to get this approved? And the state basically laughed at him and said no way would they approve their proposal. No one told you about this. Maybe you should go to a few meetings before telling lies.
But yes, the village is trying to get their own "peace officers" that they can use to harass and intimidate who they want. Why, what did you think they were going to do with armed fire marshals?

but the thing is, they are correct. Just because you don't like them doesn't make any thing they say less true. The village IS trying to get an armed fire marshal.

Definition of a fire marshal.

A fire marshal, in the United States and Canada, is often a member of a fire department but may be part of a building department or a separate department altogether. Fire marshals' duties vary but usually include fire code enforcement and/or investigating fires for origin and cause. Fire marshals may be sworn law-enforcement officers and are often experienced firefighters.
A fire marshal's duties vary by location. Fire marshals may carry a weapon, wear a badge, wear a uniform or plain clothes, and make arrests pertaining to arson and related offenses, or, in other localities, may have duties entirely separate from law enforcement, including building- and fire-code-related inspections. In many areas, the fire marshal is responsible for enforcing laws concerning flammable materials.
