28 years in attack of homeless man -- Crimes, New York, Newsday

A homeless man convicted last month of setting another indigent man ablaze after a dispute about a mobile home was sentenced Friday to 28 1/2 years in prison.

The town of Mastic is shot. I used to live in the area growing up and have been gone for 7 years. Suffolk county and NYS use it as a dump site. It's only gonna get worse with time so this is just another chapter in the saga of dirt bags and illegals.Oh I forgot white trash and schmoogys. Sorry about that.

the story was about a homeless man severely disfiguring another homeless man in a trailor with a molotov cocktail. Why are you posting a rant about people driving without a license and the DA that won't cruicify someone for breaking this law? These two have no address to put on any driver's license, nor were they able to afford a car or gas for that car. I think you skipped the ADD meds. stick to the script...

this story is not totally correct the victim was sleeping in his van not trailer
system failed serrano simply releasing someone from jail doesnt rehabiltate them as has been evidenced by this incident the judicial system perpetrates itself with more crime equals more jobs for criminal incarceration no one wins we pay for this person to be incarcerated but 28 yrs seems quite extensive as victim did survive

Wrong, he got the right sentence. It's the ones getting 2-4 or 5-7 for killing someone who are getting away with murder. Depenindg on circumstances most murderers should get life... imo of course.
