Why is it that everyone was demanding that the "greedy" regular county employees sacrifice and accept a lag payroll, while now the legislators and county executive are portrayed as being "allowed" to take the lag payroll? Once again, it is appearing that there are two standards. If everyone is to take the lag payroll, then it should be portrayed as even across the board with no slant being allowed as to the motive or manner in which it is implimented. To do do anything else is grossly unfair.

Sounds like slavery to me. Hey, work 2 weeks and we'll pay you for it when you leave the county, if you live that long. How come county workers have to give the county an interest free loan? Let's see how many banks let us pay 10% less of our mortgage/car payment/student loans, etc. for the next 5 months. Some people live paycheck to paycheck and to pull 10% of their salary out from under them with no choice in the matter is forcing them into financial hardship.
