A reputable school should not have to offer contracts. In all my years of training in the martial art of Jiu-Jitsu, I never paid a contract to study and learn discipline, self confidence, and self defense. The student should decide how far they want to journey down this path, not a Sensei or instructor.
These schools want to offer a guarantee of a belt or Black belt course and will instill contracts to sign on students for a period of time to lock them in on payments promising them a belt testing usually black in the near future.
In a quest to obtain knowledge to broaden your skills, wisdom, and inner peace one will never finish their training. It never ends since a great student will always be learning well after reaching a belt rank such as Black belt. You can't achieve this in a short contract period....Ever!!!

It is a simple first sign up 6 month contract children are fickly and often try something once and want to give up. Having the contract for the first six months forces not only us but our kids to suck it up and try you dont know if youll enjoy something in the first five minutes. My son goes to this school he used to bite kick scream the worst, having this program to go to gave him an outlet helped him vent out his frustrations and its not a ooo you get a black belt in six months apparently youve never paid any attention to anything spoken about at the school

I would never have signed my child up had I known we would be getting charged for a 6 month period whether my child goes or does not. I am at an age where I feel as if I should not have to be forced to do anything. My child does not want to attend karate, we went because of an ad we saw in the local paper. We ended up paying for karate even though my child had not decided if she wanted karate, girl scouts, or dance. NOT fair to us or to her to force her into anything she does not want to do.

You may not think you have a contract; until you decide it's not for you, and you get unauthorized charges to your bank account. DONT BE FOOLED BY THIS PLACE!!

My daughter has only been there for 2 weeks. She had a local offer of two free classes. I like the message they were teaching the kids and I agreed to let her enrole. The first week she took two classes because of our tight schedule. This week she has been to 4 classes ans will probably go to the class tomorrow and Saturday. She absolutely loves miss Kim. I see a big difference in her behavior already. If she continues to progress and enjoys it I will gladly pay the fee.

Please do not trust Vitale's. They will continue to bill you once you leave and to make matters worse, they send you collections after you don't pay even though you left!!#

My son and I both attended vitales karate academy! My son started when he was 4 and thankfully we left when he was 8. This school can care less about you or your child. All that matters is getting more people to join and more money for them. After they claimed we were like "family" I was shocked when they also tried charging me after I wanted to leave. The kick boxing class is definitely worth it but the workout mats are filthy!!! They never wash them. My son has been going to unified martial arts for two years also known as dante ryu and he learned more there in 1 year than his four years combined at vitales. This school is a waste of time and money!!
****PLEASE BEWARE********

pay as you go is the rule, contracts are for buying cars and houses, not to have a clown show.
