New to the area

OK. My mother was a devout Christian. She thought gays were just AWFUL! She didn't think they should be allowed to teach in schools or everyone would become gay. She also thought that every gay guy would molest every male child and/or adult he came in contact with. She was totally against anyone being gay. I tried to explain to her that's NOT the way it is, but having Alzheimer's, she just couldn't comprehend. Then when I pointed out that her nephew, my cousin, is a really flamboyant gay, she gasped in horror and claimed that wasn't true! LOL!!!

I'm a straight female and I've been married to the same man for over 35 years now. I've also had homosexual male and female friends. My lesbian female friends wouldn't even dream of hitting on me in a sexual way, and yet we're like sisters. I feel totally comfortable around gay men. I mean, I have nothing to fear from them and nothing to prove. I also have tranny friends anywhere from just crossdressers to going all the way with surgery. They are people. Actually, they're very nice people, or they wouldn't be my friends. I have had a lot more straight friends over the years, but there are good and not so good in both.

I would rather my children had been around gays and lesbians than pedafiles, and yes, Virginia, there is a difference. I'm old so I've been around a while and have seen attitudes change over the years as people slowly learn.

That is what people do. We judge everyone and everything around us all the time. The more we know about someone or something, the more accurately we can judge the positive and negetive aspects of what we are percieving. If it bothers you to be judged, change your behavior to the point that you will not be adversly judged by society at large.

My point about him judging me has to do with the fact that it's being done under the guise of religion. I am simply making a point to practice what you preach or shut up.

The "Christian" people on here typing pure filth are an embarrassment to the church. Reading some of this stuff was just embarrassing. Being a Christian means to be Christ like. And I saw none of him any of the post from "Christians". I'm not defending the homosexual lifestyle but knowing the Bible like I do. I know that if Jesus had been confronted by a homosexual he would have never said the things you so called "Christians" said. You people possibly pushed non-christians further away from the Lord. Here's a verse about our words - Matt 12:36 "But I tell that men will have to give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word that have spoken." And also a verse about judging. 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 "What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside the church? God will judge those outside of the church. Expel the wicked man from among you." Take those scriptures how you want them. I don't believe in homosexual marriage and the Bible is against it. I'm pretty sure everyone homosexual person at one time or another has heard what it says. Let's tell them about the blessing and love of God. I hope this helps someone.
