Wanted For Murder: Michael Schallert / Mexican Mike / Afton Ferris

Has anyone seen Michael Schallert or Afton Ferris they are being saught after for a double homicide that happened yesterday in Illinois. FRANKLIN COUNTY Local police have now recruited the US Attorney, US Marshals, the FBI and the Illinois State Police to help find the pair they believe are responsible for Sunday's double homicide in West Frankfort.

Police are looking for a couple they describe as persons of interest: 29-year-old Michael Schallert, also known as "Mexican Mike," and 19-year-old Afton Ferris. Police believe they are traveling in one of the victim's cars, a 2003 Tan Chevy Impala, with a license plate number: G89-36-39.

I experienced Mike Schallert directly and he has left a trail of desturuction in CA souring every contact and person he knew. He used everyone left huge bills has outstanding warrents for DUI, theft of all kinds. I hope he is caught soon before he damages someone else.

Sad Relative, I hope they catch him as well. Him and his fiance' Afton Ferris are considered armed and dangerous. They are being saught after as " Persons of interest" in two homicides that happened here in Southern IL on Monday! They stated he was from Cheyenne so I thought someone might know him and his where abouts. So I posted here. I hope and pray that the police get them!!!

I met Mike through his aunt, who is a very dear, long time friend. I was completely shocked by this story. Mike worked on my house and even stayed over one night to finish the job. I knew he came from a troubled past, but he was always very nice and professional on the job. I am aware of the bridges he burned in CA, but to visulize Mike as a murderer, is hard to comprehend. My bet is on the girlfriend!

i know michael personally and i know he could never do this in his right mind. he has influences around him that make him do the things he does. all he ever wanted was someone to love him unconditionally and maybe he thinks he found that love in afton "romeo and juilet" " bonnie and clyde" "mickey and malorie". he has burned many bridges in his lifetime yes, but to hurt someone intentionally with no remorse thats something thats just too hard to fatham. i think afton had the biggest influence on him in the beggining it was good but suddenly with no warning it turned bad, no terrible!!!! my heart goes out to the families of the victims but please understand that i have known michael his whole life and he has always been to standoffish to pull a stunt like this. understand that the families of the victims are suffering but the family of michael is suffering as well, his mother is wondering where her little boy went, his sister is wondering what made him click the way he did. afterall they do know him better than anyone on here. i understand people nwant to defend the victims but i am hereto defend michael. he has always been a good kind hearted person

I am not defending anyone whom ever done this just needs to suffer the way the victims did. I do not know Michael personally although he looks very very familiar. The only reason I posted on here is so maybe someone that knew him knew his where abouts and could talk him into turning himself in befor the police found them but unfortunately they found him first. It may have been Afton who pulled the trigger who knows but whom ever it was needs to suffer too!

Even if he didn't pull the trigger he is GUILTY! HE stole the gun from one victim's Aunt! They found the gun,car and their BLOODY clothing!

Being Michael's ex wife and knowing him for about 13 yrs and I agree with this 100% Michael does not have it in him to be a murderer. He has kids that love him and they don't believe he did this either(nor do I) and if anyone should know the type of person he is it should be his kids,mother and sister. Michael gets tunnel vision when it comes to females and he falls in love quick and hard and he would go to the ends of the earth for the girl he loves. Sometimes he loses site of whats right and what's wrong but he is NOT a murderer. I believe Afton is the one who pulled the trigger and he is trying to protect her and that is why he ran. Michael would give his shirt off his back to a homeless guy, he would offer that bum on the side of a road a place to stay. He is a good person and this is just to unbeliavable.

My kids and I send our condolences to the victims families and pray that this gets figured out and that the right person is punished for this horrific crime.
