"To the surprise of several County Legislators" AND the Village Board!!!!!

Who the hell does Mike Sullivan think he is to approach the Legislature by himself?! Clearly this was a back handed, sneaky attempt for him to get what he and his puppet Jackie wants.

Say what you want about Frank Pagano, but he would NEVER be so sneaky and slithery. Mike Sullivan makes me sick. This is not the first or third time he has pulled this sneakiness when he doesn't get his way. I'm so sick of it!

The Village board needs to take action against him, for speaking without their approval. The Village Board is the Governing Body of the Village. He also cost Dunkirk and Jamestown some money, he needs to be impeached

I think you're using "impeach" incorrectly. To be clear, "impeach" means to levy accusations against an elected official. It does not mean "remove from office." What specific accusations would you levy against Mr. Sullivan?

What sucks the most is that he took ANY CHANCE that there could have possibly been of getting any funding for the task force. He totally screwed the other communities who are committed to drug enforcement issues. What a jerk. Did he ever think that there may be a starting point and work from there, nope he wants it all right away.

Representing the Village and stating policy that the governing body (the board of trustees) has to authorize.

Right, I got that from your post above. But what specific criminal allegation would you levy against him so that he could be impeached?

you a Sully supporter ? He should be thrown out of Office for all he has done while in Office, this latest incident just topped it off, he went outside his scope of authority, that authority lies with the Village Board. Something needs to be done with him, it will be at the next election for sure.

Is the legislative hearing someplace where anyone can go and speak? Was he speaking as himself (a citizen), or as a representative of the village of Fredonia? The newspaper never gives these details...

After reading the article, Sullivan sounds like he makes sense, i.e. if the funding is not there for next year, then they have to eliminate that position (which probably never happens in government) or find a new source of funding.

Althought I think he tells a good joke by suggesting they pass a law to create a central police force. If the legistaure did anything productive it would be amazing.

It also shows that the legislative retards Kleparek and Keffe don't have the balls to push forward on something they believed in. Duh, if they had spent time with caucus and deal making to get the funding, why would they give it up when a tiny village mayor makes a sound? I guess this is why Kleparek was not re-elected, and Keefe didn't run because he's worthless.

besides drugs will always win, no amount of money or people will stop the drug trade, as long as the demand to buy them is there... If Sullivan would have siad that, then at least he would be telling the truth. But he's a Republican, so he has to stick to the party bullshit.

No, I'm not a "sully supporter." I don't even know the guy. I just hate it when people start talking out of their asses without knowing what it is that they're talking about. It's irresponsible to go 'round blabbing that someone should be impeached without having specific charges in mind. If people really want him out of office that badly, they can do so at the polls - but that would require that people abandon their apathetic nature and actually go do something. And good heavens, we can't have that.

You are a classic idiot. Sully needs to be thrown out, he went and made decisions that even as Mayor he had no right to do, the Village Board has those rights, he also affected other communities with what he did, he should be tarred and feathered.

You accused some one of talking out their ass, I read what they posted and understood it, you sound like someone who thinks that they are better than everyone else.

I repeat, he was frigging right!!! There was no funding assured after this year, and the funding avaiable was $20,000 for a $100,000 item!!! This makes sense to you? I am not a Sully supporter, I can't stand him. But when he's right he's right, and this was one of those times.

The funding was based on Officer participation Fredonia had 1 Dunkirk and Jamestown each had 2, thats how it was broken down, any help is better than nothing at all, and he had no right to do what he did, that's the Board of Trustee's decision. This could have been the start of something new to help out on the fight against drugs, but Sully screwed that up.

That's all well and good, except that they WERE talking out of their ass (a fact you seem to want to ignore), and so are you. In ignorance, people throw words around to make it sound like they know what they're talking about. Then, when someone comes along and points out the mistake and corrects it, people like you come out of the woodwork to point fingers and play the "holier-than-thou" card. It's both predictable and boring. Try again.

I note that the person to whom I was replying has yet to come back and clarify exactly what formal charges they'd like to levy against Sullivan so that he might be impeached.

I'd like more details. Perhaps Sulivan came before the legislature alone because the village board couldn't get their act together fast enough. Perhaps they wanted to discuss the matter with the other towns of Dunkirk and Jamestown first. But then shouldn't they have had the time to do that prior to it coming to a vote in the legislature? And why isn't Sullivan on this board explaining what he did in detail so we can understand before we pass judgement?

If I understand it correctly he also cost Jamestown and Dunkirk $$$ as part of the same package.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Libra

If you live with other people you have to resign yourself to the fact that you all want to do different things today. The more you urge togetherness, the more everyone will be determined under tonight's Full Moon to do their own thing even if it creates problems. Try to play this down as much as possible because it's also a lunar eclipse and getting angry won't solve anything; it may even make the situation worse. Maybe this is a chance for you to do what you want for a change, too? Anyway, enjoy yourself tonight, Libra because you deserve it!
