it's possible that my uncle Lyle has a picture of Hunley's garage and the white house next to it. My uncle Lyle owned Kirkpatrick's on the square in Celina. I don't have access to the pictures at the time. But when i do travel out of state, I will check and see. If he had one, you are most welcome to it.

I remember many times, going to Kirkpatrick's with my grandpa or my dad, and eating a thick bologna & cracker sandwich, the good ol' Moon Pie & a RC Cola at his lunch counter. Lyle was a colorful character, and could be ornery as a snake as well. Those days were a simpler & happier time.

Hey Fly, I remember eating at that long table in the back of the store. We sit on old nail
kags. I learned a lot about the world as I listen to the oldtimers discussing the problems as they understood them. That was before we were, "rolling down hill like a snowball heading for hell." "with no kind of chance for the flag , or the Liberity Bell"

Thanks for sharing those happy memories with me. He was a special, but honery old coot at times, just like u said. I loved him dearly, and remember many fond memories as a child and young adult in the "store" as we called it.

I appreciate your words about Uncle Lyle and Kirkpatrick's store. He was, and you must have known him well, as ornery as they come at times, but as he aged was a quite loving man. My mom worked there on Saturdays and when he had to be out of town, or as you may remember ---he had a few drunk days. Oh, how those sweet memories warm my heart.

You are right about the old nail kegs that we sat on. I kept one of those kegs for old times sake. I could never cut the bologna as straight as Uncle Lyle could, but still love bologna and hot sauce.

Billy would you have any High School pictures of the boys basketball team from 1983-84. We are looking for a team picture of those boys when they played ball or went to the state. The seniors would have been the Reecer boys, Rat. Coe was a junior.

"Sure", you can go drive off a cliff. Bill Kendall is a good man, who would do for anyone. He can do more good in a year, than you can in your whole life.

I still love to eat bologna and hot sauce. I remember when Lyle's sister, Elizabeth would sit in for him. I also remember much earlier, when Lyle's dad and mother worked in the store. we effectionally referred to them as Mr. and Mrs. Kirkpatrick.I remember one time when I did not have a dime for a slice of bologna. I only had a nickle. Mr. Kirkpatrick cut me one of the biggest slices of bologna for a nickle that I had ever seen. Some of the folks that I remember eating with were: Jack Roach, Ben Jones, Woodrow Jones, Hob Smith, snake Long, Tobe Roach, and others. Those were the days. The ole timers would discuss the news of the day, and of course Lyle would add his satire to the discussion.

Billy, I was wondering if you have a picture of Earl Napier's resturant? I worked there more than thirty years ago.
