Iíve been told that at the last school board meeting some board member want private driveway rocked by the road department. Does this mean that everyoneís driveway would have rock added to it or is the rock just for individuals the school board thinks should have rock?
Letís not take chances. Does your driveway have that tired look from a hard wet winter? Do you need rock just to make the driveway look better? Or do you think you simply should get your fair share. Whatever the reason, you are entitled to your free rock and all you have to do is call your school board members and they will make it happen. Yes get your free rock today and let the taxpayers put the bill. Offer will expire after August elections, so call today!!!

Personally I don't know how your Scool Sytem there in TN. looks at things, but here in Ky.if you have a DISABLED CHILD that is enrolled in the School System and that your drive is rocked and it is not capable of the weight limit of the School Bus and it is in bad shape then you can get this brought up to the school board for consideration to have your driveway rocked properly. Here in Ky. normally the School Bus Driver will bring this subject up for approval.Otherwise I have no idea.

That is prbably what happened in this instance at the board meeting. Sometimes our school buses have to use private driveways to turn around. Heavy buses can do a lot of damage to a driveway. I feel certain that this would warrant the graveling of the driveway at no expense to the homeowner.

How can a child of 14 be labeled disabled if he is not old enough to work? Disabled means not able to which I think of as working in this society. I also am disabled, but tend to deny that to myself. I am disabled by doctors from working legally. So how could a child of 14 get thought of that way. Willie had heart surgery---Bless him.

Lee I dont know what you are talking about. I said nothing about disability or anyone recieveing bebifiets. You just make what ever you want out of a conversation. And who is willie? The conversation was about free gravel, not your medical disability to which I have recieved neither one!

You are considered disabled when you have a disability to do normal activities, I don't think age has anything to do with being disabled...my son is 21 now, but he has been considered disabled since he was 3 years old and he was diagnosed with autism...he has a mental disablity and that qualifies him to be disabled to do normal day to day activities.

Lee, I will also say this, how can you bring an innocent child into this conversation, and use him by name to justify your disability. I did not say one word about your disability, though I am sorry you have one. I did not mention any names as to who I may have thought you where. I was only commenting on gravel. I did say my son had open heart surgery, however was not asking you for anything. But that is the way it is, some people make up what evr they want to from a conversation, and there is where the problem is. No one said a word of you and your disability. I dont know who willie is but I feel sorry for you because you made your conversation about him. At the same time I did not see that you where registered, nor did you post your true name. Have a good day, as I have no further comment.

Wow. Here in southeastern Illinois our school district just cut 30 teaching positions for next year. Also just heard on the news Fairfield High School is cutting all High School sports out for next year. Times are hard here and they are putting rock on poor folks driveways down there. Wow.

Headlines for Friday, March 19, 2010

Faced with a projected state aid shortfall of up to $800,000 next year, the Fairfield Community High School Board Thursday night voted to use the Reduction in Force option to lay off all coaches and extracurricular sponsors for the coming year, plus two teachers. The board laid off building trades instructor Johnny Ray Pennington and voted not to re-hire English instructor Sean Kirksey.

Board officials stressed that they did not eliminate any programs for the coming school year. Board President Larry Vest said that once the district learns how much money will actually be forthcoming for the 2010-2011 school year, sports and extracurricular sponsors will be re-instated as funding allows. The State of Illinois currently has an estimated $13 Billion budget deficit.

Speaking before a crowd estimated at more than 250, several parents called on the board to trim its budget at the top, suggesting the principal's job be eliminated. Earlier this month, the Edwards County Community Unit School Board voted to eliminate the principal's position, combining the duties with the superintendent. Others called on the district to list the cost of each program, then ask the community to help provide funding for those program.

WOW! Rastous that truly serious there and here in our State as well they are talking about ct-backs in different area's as far as our School System here is also.I am truly sorry to hear about all this up in your part of the country too.

I should clarify myself in saying that the Scool System in itself des not take care of the bill for the rock for individual's driveways and such here if you live in the county. The School System presents this to the "COUNTY JUDGE EXECUTIVE AND OUR COUNTY MAGISTRATE" as in COUNTY MAGISTRATE they are voted in by us at each 4 year voting intervals here in our state and assigned to different District Area's in the County. Then this is approved and done through a third party you might say here in our community.By in which all of us Landowners and Homeowners and working class citizen's pay our Taxes to make sure that such things as this for instance may get done properly to help others in need of such assistance.

Sorry to be such a pest but I couldn't sleep so I thought that I would read over the various Forums and Cities and such on different topic's.I had rather stay on something that makes sense than to ramble on something that just nonsense.Although I do like the Word Game here, pretty fun,Thank You for starting it.In alot of cities you just cannot find many Tpic's that you would really want to post on.Thank You Rastous and hhave a pleasant Sunday.
