How about your city officials? Rewarding their bank buddies and enshrining city Government in the nicest building (until the bank builds a new one)in town?
The City Administration is still partying like it's 1999.
And you are footing the tab. LOL

No we aren't! City used dedicated funds already in existence to purchase the building.

Really? That makes it ok?
It benefits 2 parties.
The bank, who gets to abandon the down town, and the city, who gets a building with over half of it wasted space.
Plus you still get to pay the heating bills at any buildings left over! Like the old City Hall.
Ha Ha, great deal for the taxpayers.

You don't get it. The fire department is staying in the current building and expanding there space within to hire my firefighters. The munincipal court, tax offices and police are moving to bank building utilizing its full space. If you don't like what or how the city handles things feel free to go!

I take it you are going to be working in the new building so I understand why you're so defensive.
How exactly are they going to utilize the massive amount of open air space in the atrium? It's like something you'd see at a space museum.
The bank dumped a monstrosity on the City and the City is now on the hook for twice the heating and cooling costs. No problem, huh? Money everywhere.
Did the City ever find that Million plus dollars they overlooked? You know the million they found after they pleaded for and got a tax increase?
So if you think your city leaders are doing a great job you either work for the Government or are an idiot. Which is it?

I work out of town. I and the only idiot on here is you. I say again you don't like the way the city is run, there are plenty of other places to live.

People like you are why I left.
Good luck getting intelligent people to stay there.
You say you don't work there?
Why not, if you like it so much?
Let me guess, the city has thrown you work in return for sucking up and your income isn't taxed for the city's extravaganzas.
Leave that for the people trying to build businesses there...

No I'm no contractor. Just love the town I'm in. The people who screwed up city are no longer in office or much like yourself, left. Good riddance!

Wrong. The people who screwed up the town are now in greater positions of power. Like the mayor.
Glad you don't have to deal with those pesky tourists visiting the lake or potential buyers driving up property values. Keep your head in the sand.
You still didn't answer the questions of why you don't work in town and if you pay city income tax...

I don't work in town because I have been at my job for 15 years and have lived in Celina 10. I moved here to be closer to my job. I work in st. Mary's but sure as hell didn't want to live there. I used to live in van wert. In comparison, this town is wonderful. I'm not sure if you are familiar with vw or not. If so you know what I mean. I'm not saying everything is perfect here but I do not object to the bank purchase because of what it enables the fire department to be able to do know. Bear in mind the city commissioners not the mayor approves the purchase.

Questions for Outside Observer: if you no longer live in Celina why are you so worried about our town? You are ignorant about the city/bank deal. I'm glad you don't live here any longer!
