He's got my vote. I didn't always agree with his politics, but he stood up for what he believed not what others told him to believe. Attorney General is too important an office to have it handed to a political appointee who does what he's told. This office must be separate from the Governor's Office to be effective regardless of party affiliation.

What about the other copy of this same DeWine story with 20 comments already on it!!?

C'mon Dispatch, get this crap right, or else it's obvious this is a desperate grab for pennies - well, I guess that's obvious either way.

Has Mike DeWine ever had to go out and get a JOB like the rest of us or has being on the public payroll through some election been his career ?
I am also waiting to see what or who gets a DEAL from the Good Olde Boyz Club we call the REPUBLICANS..... A deal will have to be cut with DeWine or Yost (Delaware County Prosecutor) to bow out so there is no expensive primary .. Will it be a lucrative law firm job or promise of another race at another time ???? BET on it because they always do it..... Maybe DeWine for Governor

Hey, hey, ho, ho, RINO mike has got to go!

Good grief...didn't this wet noodle get the message with his defeat a few years ago? As a conservative, I will NOT support Mike DeRINO. The Ohio Republican Party (which his son now runs) needs to get a better candidate than this goober.

This man is the ultimate career politician, and cares not a whit about party, principle or supporting the positions held by his supporters. All he cares about is getting elected.

GO AWAY Mikey!

For some reason, the Dispatch's system does not like the word "H" followed by an "O." Sorry for the confusion.

It is always great to read the comments based on false information. If I remember Brown lost his reelction bid for SOS to Taft in 1990, and seemed to come back fine and win for Congress and then Senate. Also Voinovich lost for senate in 88 and then won Governor in 1990. Also Kevin Dewine is not Mikes son. Get your facts straight.

DeWine may be a nice guy, but he did nothing in the Senate while Ohio's economy was slipping into the abyss.

Just another old white guy with no new ideas.

Another example of why the two party system is broken. We get the same faces running over and over for different offices. There needs to be a viable third party to allow for options. Alas, while the Repubs and Dems have control, we will have no true option. Politics was never intended to be a lifelong career (the founders made that clear). This is how lobbyists exert so much control since they know the same guy will be around his whole career.

Here's the deal. If DeWine and Kasich are elected we are going back to 1955. Cause that's when they stopped thinking. C'mon Ohio use that gray matter stuffed inside your skulls. No new ideas with these two. "It worked back then (not) so that's all I know." Also here's their plan-If you got money-we're with ya-if not- see ya.

And if that's unsuccessful what then?? dog catcher? WHY DOESN' THIS GUY GO GET A REAL JOB IN THE REAL WORLD??.... oops, my bad. To get and keep a job in the real world one needs be an evolved life form...ruling out poloticos of all ilks. I know recycling is popular but let's quit with the political hacks already.
