You still have 2 other choices.... Michael McGee and Randy Stewart.
Does anyone know which party McGee is running for?
Let me put it this way..last ecection McLendon wife came to my house asking for my vote. This is time..do NOT send your wife, sister, brother,Mother or any other relative to my house asking for my vote because you will NOT get it. I know it's impossibe to go to every home in Polk Co. But, the first running man for sheriff...that comes to my house gets my vote..IF no one shows up..I will vote for Mike Sulllivan.

don't need to go to every house; just to registred voters' houses. no others matter. anyone's opinion talking about elections of any kind and are not registered to vote is absolutely worthless. the same can be said for people who are registrerd to vote but do not exercise that right at EVERY opportunity.

Why don't we worry about the 4 candidates that will be running in the July primary & leave the Sheriff out of it? The walking small comments are so old!

Honest I was agreeing with you for a while but I do not see anything wrong with Mike, Al or Gary! Nobody would have won last time if it was what are they calling it, "in the bag for McLendon"

I would like to see what they all want to "bring to the table". What they each represent and what they going to do to change things around here! I believe when AL Sharp was chief he did things well, He ain't even running and neither is Gary Simmons. Everybody that is running has someone in mind of who they want beside them too!

@voter2...your point is an excellent one....when not informed of the candidates and their qualifications i have indeed withheld a vote, but not becuase i wanted to be punitive to either candidate...i thought i'd leave their selection up to voters who knew more about them than me.

but to your point however.....when one does NOT vote, one is "YIELDING" power, not "exercising" power. such that, the "power" held by the voter becomes neutral, moot and rendered useless, and thus is of no value to the election equation.

another way to state it, is, when one witholds their vote all together, they are exercising" their RIGHT not to vote...but they are NOT exercising power.

but i do understand your response....when one has the option to select between the lesser of 2 undesirables, withholding your selection may seem prudent.

i read somewhere on here a good analogy about voting for someone we weren't totally supporting...they said, "sometimes we have to hold our nose and pull the lever".

I noticed that all the Polk County web pages are hosted in Canada, except the PCSO page at:

http://www.pcsoga.com/

It was designed by:

www.computer911repair.com

[email protected]

Copyright. 2011 by www.computer911repair.com

As you can see, the copyright is expired.

This page:
http://www.pcsoga.com/aDMIN.html

appears to be mostly politically motivated, and portrays the Sheriff as a hero. The page also has "Cheif" instead of Chief.

The bottom of this page in invisible type has "Copyright. Polk County Sheriff's Office. Polk County, Georgia".

No year given for the copyright.

I found all this in about five minutes.

Why is this page separate from the rest of the county pages? What professional designer misspells words and lists expired or non-existent copyrights? Is the individual that got this web contract related to the Sheriff? How much did this webpage cost the county? Would it have been more economical to have the PCSO page with the county page?

What was the outcome of the Chief Deputy that left his keys and firearms in his unlocked car?

How does everyone feel about the pulling of ip addresses from this very site? Is it true the judge is dating an employee at PCSO? Is it true a judge has a relationship with the same PCSO employee they sign warrants for? Is it true that is how the ip's were illegally pulled in the first place?

Just curious.

Is it true the judge is dating an employee at PCSO? IT IS TRUE
Is it true a judge has a relationship with the same PCSO employee they sign warrants for? YES ALL TRUE
Is it true that is how the ip's were illegally pulled in the first place? YES TRUE AGAIN

Just curious.
I answered questions although I'm sure you knew the answers but I'm know there are plenty that may not. All answers are not me "yelling" I used caps so others could identify my response not to think it was the poster.

For all who are interested in meeting Randy Stewart, He will be having a Meet and Greet on May 19, 2012 at Seaborn Jones Park, begining at 2:00pm.

Come out and meet Randy and ask him any questions about any concern you might have.

Randy is looking forward to meeting as many people as possible and sharing what his platform is all about.

Randy Stewart for Sheriff. Lets put SERVE back in "Protect and Serve"!

at this juncture, juxtaposed against the county commissioner(s) race, it doesn't really matter who the sheriff is becuase he/she does NOT control county tax rates NOR how those taxes are alocated and what they are spent on. the sheriff's office controls what's spent in that depatment, but that's all.

the county commissioners race affects your wallet WAY MORE than the sheriff's race, and often much, much longer than the term of a sheriff.

all this jibber-jabber about a sheriff, and if the right people aren't elected for county commissioner, all of you will be complaining about how (or how not) your county tax dollars are spent (or not). in the meantime, the sheriff, whomever they are, will STILL BE serving papers and running the jail. whoopee.

better wake up, folks.

AND, in this county, as it probably is in other counties across the country, the Sheriff's race gets more attention. Get accustomed to it. Magic hat.

Don't like it. Turn your little hat the other way.

Been following these posts with interest. Grew up in Polk County as a boy. Seems that this Stewart guy might be a "wild card" worth looking at. Then again, maybe the "Cool Hand Luke" stereotype isn't such a cliche after all.
