Is building condos on a piece of property once designated for the education of children, the smartest thing to do? When was the last time they knocked down condos to build a school? 144 new luxury units does not make Lawrence a better place to live. I see it as a lost piece of history and and lost piece of Lawrence's future.

unfortuantely, the schoolw as falling apart and the demographics of the neighborhood have changed. more orthodox jews are putting their kids in private schools outside the community.
in addition, the orthodox private school parents have a majority on the school board and they could give a damn about what happens to the public school kids.
