Are the AP writers aware that the Federal Government controls 65% of Alaska's land mass?(the state is twice as large as Texas) Shouldn't you have pointed this little inconvenient fact out to your readers? It certainly distorts the "per capita" claim given to the reporters in the democrat talking points they obviously used to write this article.

The fact remains that Obama alone in three years requested close to a billion in funds for earmarks--including one million dollars for the hospital where his wife worked.

And his "plans" for "Change" would add billions in spending to an already bloated federal government. Plans, that, no doubt, would be no more successful than the Chicago Annenberg Challange that, after wasting over sixty million dollars in "progressive" programs made absolutely no measurable change in the Chicago Public School system.

Both McCain and Palin have proven records of reform and fiscal responsibility. The American people aren't stupid.

If Alaska gave away a thousand acres every day it would take us 1000 years to become landless. Only 1% is privately owned. Since the folks in the lower 48 seem to have wet dreams about keeping it pristine it takes a lot of Federal Park Rangers and biologists to oversee it. Why should Alaskans pick up the bill for the world's biggest park. Think about that next time you donate to your favorite environmentalist group. It's tedious to listen to people who live in environmental sewers lecture us and complain about the cost of their great Alaska Park.
