Ministers ?

While at the local hospital visiting a friend, in the room across the hall was a man who is in the 4th stages of alzhiemers. The minister came in and instead of comforting the man, he began a story of how he had worked with patients whith this diease. this patient had not been told he had this and began to cry. The minister just kept on with his life stories. Need less to say the rest of the family there was appalled at this . and after he left they did not speak so good of him. I know that this minister has been seen gambleing and also has been bothering a young mother here to go to his church. The woman is scared to death of him , when he knocks on her door she and her children do not say a word. This is not right.

If you do not like this man than you should tell him. Getting on here and running youre gossiping mouth does no good. That should be up to the family. It is not your place to say or do anything about it. If you have seen him gambling where were you? Did anybody tell him that the patient had not been told? It is not your place it is the families. As for this young mother, maybe he is just trying to invite her to church. Do you have something against going to church? Maybe he is being too pushy. She needs to tell him she is not interested and for him to not keep bothering her. I have never known a preacher to try scare tactics, or to harm someone. You are so right. It is not right that she not say anything and that you think you need to take it upon yourself to bash this man.

Although i don't think a preacher should gamble, it's not in the bible that people should not gamble - so he is not biblically falling short there.

I thought church folks and town people understood it is a minister's job to share Jesus and invite people to church. So the young mother just needs to say "i'm not interested in going". But I see nothing wrong with him knocking on her door - I expect my preacher to do that.

And as far as the hospital visit, I agree with OOOH was he told the patient did not know? Just because he did not handle it the way you or even the family liked him to does not make him wrong.

Give him grace instead of talking about him, I mean was anybody else visiting him besides his family or just listening from the other room?

just curious where is he gambling at? Can you get more info on this, I would love to tell the elders at our church about this one. As far as his bedside manner he has none. All he can do is yak about himself and bore you to tears if he comes to visit you while you are sick. He is the most self-serving selfish individual who ever walk the face of this earth. He would not give a person a drink of water, yet he is over the local food bank which he guards like he has a POW. The food is free, but if you fill out something wrong he worded the form to read he will prosecute you to the fullest letter of the law. No, I have never asked for or need any assistance, but believe me, a person in this town with hungry children may as well be the scum of the earth to him. He has no concern for the needy only what will fill his pockets, but look at him he has never missed a meal. I wonder how he would feel to be a small child and go to bed hungry. Shame on this entire town including myself as we stand by and watch this self centered, forgive me I can not call him a Minister. He is the False Prophet we have all been warned about. I am so sorry to hear he is visiting any sick person because they will be sicker when he leaves than when he arrived, with all his babble.

I'm appalled. You all are hypocrites!! Have you ever confronted this person to his face? Do you learn anything in church? You sure don't lead by example. If you don't go to his church you better find one and get a healthy dose of God.

Way to go Lena, however I don't think you will ever get them to wake up to what they are doing. All they think about is defamaming and slandering people. They did the same thing to me in October, I thought about answering it however decided I didn't want to sink to their level.

They stated they were glad I had been voted off the city council as I had worked for the hospital and it went broke, then got voted to the city council and now we are in debt that we will never get out of. They also said our twin boys Chad and Chris were not our sons and I was always talking about them being in the army. Then they stated my job now was taking care of my (drinking their spelling not mine) husband.

Well here goes, just a short answer to these unfounded accusations. If by chance it makes you feel better to blame me for the hospital closing and the city being so far in debt go ahead. I have broad shoulders. However the water contract and the grant for the water was done by the former councils not while I was on.

However bringing my family into it is a whole different matter.

1. We leagally adopted the twins when they were babies. Not that it is any of your business. When you adopt children they become your sons or daughters no matter who the biological mother is. I said the twins were in the Marines not the Army and they both spent two tours in Iraq.

2. My husband does not drink as you suggested. He neither drinks or does drugs. His helth problems have nothing to do with drinking or drugs. I don't appreciate your insinuating that it does.

3. Stating things like that is defamation of character and slander. In case your interested you can be arrested for making false accusations.

Lets use this forum for helpful discussion and ideas and not to run everyone down.

I do not know why you felt the need to write this about your family, I think you are confused, your family has not been mentioned on this discussion.

I mentioned them because that is how they were talked about on the other Topix and I feel like I know how this minister must feel. You can ruin a person with all of this garbage.
