Body believed to be missing Claiborne County man

A body discovered Wednesday morning in Claiborne County is believed to be that of 48-year-old Douglas Raney, who has been missing since February.

They search for a day or so and then stop. Sad isn't it. I just hope the poor guy didn't suffer out there.

I had read about this in the Progress and wondered what had happened...was hoping they found him and just never wrote about it. I am so sorry to hear of this bad ending. Bless his soul and may the Lord help his family find comfort.

I hate how they just gave up looking for him. i am not 100 % sure, so please don't think I am trying to start anything, but I think they mention he was mentally handicapp. That makes it even sader because he may have just got confused and couldn't find his way back. I do feel sorry for this family.

They searched for a short while. Claimed they covered the very spot on which he was found. Now what does this say for our SO CALLED SHERRIFF but then again the missing mans last name wasnt assosiated with money now was it, so why bother to look very hard after all, it only took a turkey hunter to find him. That is what is sad

Yeah I know. If you aint one of rays drug buddies, or rich, o rjust able to do something for him he don't care. My home got broke into summer before last, we had proof who did it, had major proof and he wouldnt' do anything about it because the woman who did it was buddies with David Ray, and her brother gave him som estuff,(if you know what I mean). Any way, I just hope this family can peace about this.
