Wake up NM! How many more women have to die! These women may no longer be able to defend themselves. But, we can be their voice! We need to look to our legislators and ask them for tougher domestic violence laws in NM! Give NM's daughters a better future!

So, there is so much that could be said about this case. I'm glad that dirtbag finally turned himself in. But......there is always a butt, did anyone else notice how the Chief of Los Lunas was shaking hands with a cold blooded murderer like he did something good. On the news to boot! How sick! Anyway....I'm glad that the family will find some peace of mind and be able to have some justice for Miss Sanchez. At least one of the girls killed will have some justice...May each of the girls rest in peace and hopefully the families will do the same. God bless one and all!!!!

I agree, we do need tougher domestic violence laws but.... what good are they when the victim violates the restraining order put in place and goes back repeatedly to the abuser?

Certainly not justification for the murdering scumbag but what is the answer? How do you tame a woman's emotions?

Unfortunately too many domestic violence cases bear truth to your statement.

But I do take exception to "how do you tame a woman's emotions." A woman's emotions are no more out of control than the man who abuses or kills her.

I noticed what the chief did too...it was the first thing I noticed...how could it not be...I mean you know that mans attorney called the press for the publicity...I could not believe it! Here is a man who is being charged with murder...who cares that he was turning himself in...it's not like LLPD wasn't watching him...and their Chief who had nothing to do with the investigation shook his hand as he told him he was putting him under arrest for murder!! FOR MURDER! OMG..where is this idiot from? Where were the Detectives who actually worked the case?...on that's right..pushed to the sidelines just so this new chief could look good in front of the media...is this what Chief's do from the eastern part of the U.S.? Take credit for all the hard work that was done by others? If Ms. Sanchez was my family member I would be so upset...that was disrespectful to her...her family and to all the rest of us...I am still so freaking mad everytime the news shows this...Chief...you owe Ms. Sanchez's family a public apology...you shook the accused murderers hand on TV you can apologize to her family and her community on TV...too bad the Chief's position isn't an elected office.

If he's shaking his hand he must know him, Everybody almost are related they may know each other Los Lunas I hear, As for the girls and ladys that are been killed, US women have to learn not too take no %^&% from men If a man slaps you once get rid of him one slap become another one, I see at work or head how some men abuse them, I don't know why women that have kids from men, think They need to stay with Their mate So the kids can see the abuse for get that noise, I say this because I was abused by a boyfriend 30 yrs ago. My brother told me you go back I"M not comeing for you again. After three %&^ kicking In one year I never went back He drank alot then he would beat me. To this day I thank my brother for helping me out of that hole. And now I'm married and Have never been abused but if the day come I know where the door is at. No Women or man should be abuse by their MATE

#1 the Chief is new...he just moved here from a job in AZ...before that he was in law enforcement on the east coast...he doesn't know him...and even if he did is no reason to shake an accused murders hand before arresting him....professionalism to your office and respect to the victim's family should come first!!
#2 I too was in an abusive relationship....it's easy to say "leave him" .....but when you have a child and no support from your family and the man telling you over and over that if you leave the child stays here...or you'll get no money from me...or that the only way you'll leave me is in a body bag...it's hard. Things are way different than they were when I was in that position....there are many shelters and support groups. I finally found support and left... I have raised my daughter to know that she is not a punching bag for any man...and that no matter what...her Momma has her back!

Well, you have all convicted him already...what happened...did they already have his trial??? If I heard right they are also looking for several other people that my be involved.

If guilty, they and only then should such statements be said.

As for the Chief of police shaking his hand...that just shows respect that the cheif is extending for the man giving him self up...did you want him to hit him instead???

I'm sorry for the womans family, I hate they have to go through the lose of a child.

shows respect? I'm sorry...but if were your family member I'm sure you wouldn't have the same feelings. He gave himself up...in front of the press...whom his attorney set up....because he knew they were coming for him....they were watching him and he wasn't going anywhere.

I noticed the comment about the Los Lunas sheriff shaking the hand of a killer. Could it be,if the sheriff shook his hand, that there was more to the story? Could it be that the public should wait until all the facts are in to make a judgement? Isn't that the responsibility of the jury? I am one of the strongest advocates of protection for victims of DV both women and men.I also believe you are innocent until proven guilty. What has happened to us in the US?
