Hey BS, get off your soap box, we need the wood. The man bought a set of old clubs for $5, how the hell was he supposed to know what was in them. Finders keepers, losers weepers. If it was that valuable the family would have already found it. You are being a stubbon old jerk. Knock it off. Bluntly Spoken wrote: <quoted text> Correction, he bought the old golf bag with some clubs for $5. He found the medal inside one of the pockets. He did not buy the medal and had no idea it was there. I stand by what I said, contact the family as it is a heirloom and offer it back before doing what he wants with it. At least that I what I would do but then I am not him.

I purchased a D.J. Brigman ping golf bag with the Lobo emblem. I was lucky to find a few pencils.

Ask yourself this, what if it was your late dad that earned it and you knew about it but could not find it when going through his Estate, would you not want it back? I wonder what his family is thinking about this whole thing, are they happy for the guy or have they contacted him about giving it back to them or do they even care? All I would want is more time with my dad. Matieral things dont matter. Just be happy for the guy.

The proper thing to do is locate the family and ask if they'd like it returned. If not then fine, keep it. Anything else simply shows how greedy & callous some people are and a total lack of good judgment and morals.

I hear you clearly and fully agree, when my sister and I found out our dad had six month or less to live we gave him all the time we could and he never knew what we were told. The one thing he wanted most was to be home when his time came and we made sure that happened. Material things you can always buy but the love of a parent or child becomes very precious and once they are gone all you have left is the memory of them. Even pictures are not as good as the memory is, well till you start losing your mind and the pictures are all you have left. Been 21 years now and I still have vivid memories of him and the things we did.

Just wait till one of these years you lose something very close to you and another finds it then eat your words. Last post on this here and may the old man be offered one penny and not two.

This golfer guy was a stud!!! 12th all-time, in tourney victories, with a bunch of top 10 Major finishes!
I'd call up some family members and get them to sponsor a hole at UNM North! That would shut UNM and those goofball Master Plan loser's down!
That course used to stretch all the way down to Johnson Field......now Johnson Field is home to lards who run slow and illegals who play soccer all afternoon......

The Golf Auction.com is pleased to announce today that the Masters medal given to Lloyd Mangrum by the Augusta National to recognize his accomplishment as the runner-up in the 1940 Masters has been consigned. It has been consigned to The Golf Auction for its internet based auction house. The auction for the medal closes on November 22. This very exclusive item of Masters history joins the 1941 Champions medal of Craig Wood as the only other cherished Masters medal to go to public auction. The Wood medal drew high five figure hammer prices at auction. Kenley Matheny, president of The Golf Auction, expects this item to draw active bidding interest. As stated by Mr. Matheny, "the scarcity of contestant medals combined with the collectability of Masters memorabilia makes this item a cherished item among our advanced golf collector base which has challenged us to come up with this type of material". I would think the greedy finder who should at least have asked the heirs of it meant anything to them and if so offered it back. Remember he wasted no time listing it on eBay looking for that quick buck.
