Doggy Daycare, the craze hits cedar falls

When dogs meet and mingle with other dogs and people in a safe, controlled environment, they gain confidence and learn good manners. Bashful pooches can blossom and more boisterous canines practice self-control.
'Pets are not just a dog. They are a member of the family,' Apling said.
Oftentimes, busy pet owners forget that dogs are social by nature, said Dr. Lindsey Keller of Compassionate Care Veterinary Clinic in Waverly. Doggie day care can be a good way for busy families to socialize their canines. Without proper exercise and attention, good dogs can develop dysfunctional behaviors like separation anxiety, sporadic aggression and attachment issues.
"Environmental enrichment is so important," said Keller, who added that Anderson is Compassionate Care's go-to trainer.
Just because Fluffy isn't sulking in her crate, tearing into the couch cushions or gnawing on the table leg when home alone doesn't mean she wouldn't like to get out more.
"Even if you have the perfect angel at home, she's bored," Anderson added. "She might like a little play time."(wcfcourier)
