People should realize by now that drugs kill you but they keep abusing them so what do you expect? There's no other outcome but death.

Dear "wake up"... how do you know what he died from? Dont be making assumptions. Its people like you that start rumors ever time a young person passes away. He was approx 38, could have been a heart attack, embolism, or aneurysm. He was working and doing well for himself. No one should pass judgement on how someone passes away. Have some respect for him and his family jerk!!

Its sad. And to u wake up when u r an addict u have a disease just like cancer or heart disease. If u have never been in someones shoes don't make assumptions. All that happens is u make an ass of yourself. U can better better but u will battle addiction until the day you die

Ok forreal and's the thing, you are both assuming about me. I have been in his shoes and I know how old he was cause I have partied with him for years, known him even longer so don't ASSUME im just saying things I don't know about. I am an addict in recovery thank you and tried to get him to get help a couple years ago so you are the ones looking like an ass so take your own advice!

Loved him but I agree with wake up, besides he didn't say anything about Eugene in the first post, you guys assumed he was talking about him.

Again.. Wake up.. I can not even respond to such ignorance. I did not assume anything about you. I just said dont be saying it was drugs that killed him. For instance if your ass fell over dead tomorrow and you were a recovering addict like you claim to be then I hope someone shows you the same manners as you have showed Eugene and use your past drug abuse and tell everyone that is what you died from. I made no assumption about you. All I said was unless you are the person doing an the autopsy then you shouldnt be saying it was drug inflicted!

And for "knew him" if he wasnt insinuating it was drugs he died from then why comment about drugs in a post. Why get on a post about someone dying and say... they keep abusing drugs and what do they expect, Death is the only outcome. So please explain to me how he can post that and not suggest his death was drug related. How can you defend a statement like that. Why post it anyways if he/she wasnt trying to insinuate it!!

I am friends with this family and know that the state did an autopsy, so what he died of will be determined very soon. However, instead of getting on this site and debating about what killed him, and talking ugly to each other, would'nt it be better if those of you that did know him and were his friends used this platform to make nice comments about his life. He choice not to have a funeral or an eulogy, so maybe the only tribute to his life will be what you, his friends, say about him on here for other people to read. If you truly knew him, and cared for him, show him the respect he deserved by not bickering about him after his death.

My opinion... you are correct. I do not want anyone making negative comments about him. Thats why I became defensive when a positive post became negative after someone decided to mention drugs. Regardless I think its important to no judge people. He was the most kind person. I know his family well. I am good friends with his sister. I know how much her heart is aching. I got to talk to him a few weeks ago and I enjoyed every minute of that conversation, he was making me laugh like he always does. I did not mean to bicker but I just dont want anything negative said about him cause i know how much it will hurt his family. Its not ones business what he died from, he is gone. The memories he left behind will not be!!

I agree with my opinion tell us about Eugene! Tell us the 1 one word you would use to describe why you liked him or loved him, tell us something his family would love to know about him that something that made you want to be his friend. Our precious nephew was a good man with a big heart, he was a son a brother, a cousin, a Uncle and and a friend. He was needed in heaven and had to go before us, he left part of his loving family behind to be with the ones that went before him. Try some thoughts and prayers for him and his family, this should keep you busy until the official cause of death is received. Thanks for the novice ME report & gossip, but don't quit your jobs.

Loving. That is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Eugene. I had known him for many many years. He was always a very loving person who was friendly to everyone that he met. He never knew a stranger and could always put a smile on anyone's face no matter the situation. I have many great memories of our childhood, our teen years and finally our adult lives. I will never in this lifetime forget Eugene or the memories that I have in my heart. He will be missed greatly while I remain on this earth, however I know that he will always be with me, watching over me and helping all my other guardian angles keep me safe. RIP J. Eugene Smith! I know that you are up there with a smile on your face with all the others that you had lost that meant so much to you.
