Md. town gears up for Canal Day

Full story: News Journal

The Chesapeake Inn's overstocked cooler is perhaps the best indication of what's coming.

The Chesapeake Inn & Marina is GREEDY and disorganized. They charged boaters who "won" slips in a lottery in January $.75 a foot more than their advertised rates. Bouncers/security guards were stationed at each dock entrance and charged $10 on Friday or $20 on Saturday for the privilege of walking on their property for less than 100' to get to the road OR charged the same amount for our guests to walk to the pier to get to our boat. Too bad we didn't know about this up front. We won't be back for canal day OR to dine at their overpriced establishment again nor will our friends. Way to go, Chesapeake Inn and Marina.

Well there you go! Their cooler is still over stocked! They won't have to buy beer for some time because after paying just to set foot on their dock the visitors spent their beer money!

Chesapeake City is greedy. The parking is becoming less there because it is so restricted. Now they are charging $10 to park your car where it has always been free and then they shuttle you into the town for Canal Day! I feel $10 is a lot to charge for parking. I believe C City should WANT visitors rather than charging so much just for parking that people will not go. We are not attending this event, even though we like it and have attended every year. The reason is the $10 parking fee. I feel it is ridiculous.
