I am a single mom of 2 boys. I don't get any help from downtown. I work only 40 hours a week and I get paid bi weekly.. My rent and utilities come almost to $1000.00 a month. That does not include food clothing or just the basic soap, laundry soap and the necessary things I need. I don't qualify for food stamps,(i make too much money) i bring home at least $1300 a month.
please tell me why I can't get food stamps to help me out....
Why don't I qualify?
To me this just basically *****

what about work for food or I can do some thing to pay for what I get in life.why are we always giving and when will this end, this kind of begging is no differant from a bum on the street ask for a hand out. and then buying wine IT WILL NEVER END ontil we stop giving hand outs

I think we should help the needy. you never know when you may be faced having to turn to a food pantry or welfare to get by. I got a divorce and my husband left me and my two children. I worked for $8 an hour, this could not support all of us. (No help from ex yet). I had to go on welfare for food stamps. I didn't want the money, but the food stamps came in real handy. I was receiving them for nearly a year, but now I am remarried and living happily, we are comfortable. I do also receive child support. Treat others with kindness. I will help the needy. thank you.

I think this is a great idea. When my husband was injured on the job & we had to wait over 2 months for workers comp to kick in, my $8 an hour job didn't cover half of the bills and I have 3 children to feed. Food stamps & WIC helped carry us through a very difficult financial time. The truly needy to appreciate the help.

One minute on Channel 4 they tell us this is the best place to live, then in the same "newscast of untrue stories" they tell us all these companies are closing then that people are starving to death in the streets -makes good tv does'nt it?
