spent weekend and MLK day with friends in cedartown. they had the local radio station on listening to a program called 'the trading post'. a commercial came on for a restaurant called bar-L-bbq (i had to ask my friends what the guy was saying)....it sounded like 'baah-ell' and the guy talked so backwoods. for those of you who live there, is that sort of a joke ad similar to those on hee-haw or was that guy serious? he must own baah-ell...because surely the real owners wouldn't continue to pay for that....or would they?

Maybe you can find out who owns it and go ask them.
Maybe they are not aware that you are available for marketing consultation.

could care less about who owns it...have never eaten there and when i go by from time-to-time it appears no one else does, either...always an empty parkinmg lot. of the times i've driven by the advertising board out fro9nt always presents 'meatloaf and veggies'....that's not a bad dish, but you'd think if a bbq joint is supposed to be about bbq, they'd advertsie bbq?...ya think?

back to the ad...if it is supposed to be a hee-haw type ad, then it sure hit the mark.

obviously, leeo, you've read the other posts...but must have a problem with comprehension, and SHOULD have determined the blaring doesn't bother me....i don't live there....it was the neighborhood who the unwelcome blasting infringed upon. so "i" was never inclined to stop the blaring...nor did i ever state that. so your comment aove is incorrect abut "my" involvement.

once more, had you paid attention to the posts on that subject, you would've (could've) concluded that my frineds question was whether the blaring horn was coming for GEO Chemical or the now defunct Goodyear site. last i heard, once they determined who the horn belongs to, they were approaching them, or then perhaps the City. no updates.

one note of interest...somewhere in those posts someone remarked the horns signaled for people to know when to report to work, go on lunch, report back to work from luinch, and then when the day ends....my comment about that?....people shouldn't be treated like idiots...they KNOW when to be at work, when to take lunch, etc.

i didn't say it sounded country...i said it sounded backwoods. ther's a BIG difference. when i heard it all i could think of was the folks that burt reynolds and gang approached during the fiddle playing and the car shuttle in the movie deliverance......wow, an epiphany...we're talking baah-ell bbq, deliverance, and squealing like a pig...ALL related......wheeee, wheeeee, wheeee.

how do YOU KNOW they want it to sound country?

becuase you 'guess' i don't know what country 'sounds' like, you've guessed wrong!

i don't try to start trouble...just wonder about things. and if you 'really ignore people like me', why are you posting? duh.

i'm not sure what your definition of 'country' is, but if i understand what you're trying to say it is, then NOT ALL who live here are 'country'....FAR FROM IT.

small-townish for sure, but country?....that's a stretch. if everybody from here sounded like that commercial (and a lot do), then the folks around here accountable for the education of your children and grandchildren need to be fired!

you are correct though...since i listened to the Trading Post, which is a pretty good place to pick-up unique items, i've listended to it several times more when i'm in the area. and i've heard that commercial a lot....a WHOLE lot.

lastly, i do consider myslef 'rural', but not country. some might use the 2 terms interchangeably, but there is a difference.

you will never catch me saying 'git 'er dun'....kno wut ah meen?

The one in Rockmart stays packed.
The Cannon's own it. Or at least they do or did the one in Rockmart.

If you need EMT or Firemen at noon time try looking at the Bar-L first.

p.s. although i consider myself a 'rural' type of person becuase i like the serenity and solitude of not having close neighbors, and the natural and refreshing wonder of being outdoors 'in' nature, the fact remains i have lived in major cities in several states (all together) as long as i've lived in a rural setting. i love the cities, and i love rural living too.
