Cave City's fire dept hasn't been up too par in years. There response time is bad.No wonder thier iso rating is high. You only have one or two who show up half the time.If the right person is out of town alot of times you don't have a EMT available!
The ones who do show up bust thier butts though.More than i can say for the rest.

All you have to do is go back on the logs and read the call times and response times! There too worried about other things most of the time... 10 to 30 minute response times isn't nothing to brag about!

first of all you need to learn how to spell thier. It's spelled their. I have family and friends on the Cave City Fire Dept. and they are up to PAR and have been for along time. Maybe sometimes only one or two guys do show up but, they are not a paid dept. so, they have to work and make a living. They are not like some people drive around town all day. I hope and pray that whoever ya'll are that keep putting the fire dept. down never have to call on them for a fire or a EMT run. Because if I was on the dept. and knew who keeps putting them down. I wouldn't respond to call at all. Let your house or family member die. Then, how would you feel about, the fire dept. You have never seen them work on a EMT run saving people lifes or saving their home. Pay backs are HELL and who knows oneday ya'll might get paid back. So if I was talking about CCFD I would stop and think what might happen to me. All I have to say I am proud of ALL of the CAVE CITY FIRE DEPT. so, ya'll hold up ya'll heads and keep up the good job. Maybe you should go talk to the people that their house burned down on Tuesday night because, I know that Cave City almost beat Hiseville Dept. there. So, what about their response time. They had 11 guys on that run. Like someone else said if you can do any better than them go try and see what your response time could be or rating is. People like you just like talking about everyone else and you do no wrong.

There response times is not 10 to 30 minutes I know for fact. CCFD has a good group of guys that works hard to keep ISO ratings down. Each guy has to get several training hours a year to keep his or her certification up to par. These men Tuesday night worked extremely hard to fight the house fire but it was to far gone. The main goal is to protect life and property including the life of a firefighter because they to have family to go home too. The better equipment a fire training the dept. has lower the ISO ratings are. For the past several months people has put the Cave City Fire Dept. down. But I hope they keep up the good work and hold their heads up high. The only time the ambulance beats CCFD is if they are not requested. The ambulance comes to Cave City several times a day and the fire dept. is't paged out.

I think Todd Esters could make a nice little commercial praising there response time. Because they sure got an A+ on the vandalism response time. But judging everything else about the fire dept, they get an F. Its a shame that 7-9 pieces of trash from the CCFD were in on that incident, it would have been bad enough if it had been one or two, but when your talking about 7 guys in a town the size of Cave City, you know your Fire Dept. is nothing but trash.

All the so-called positive comments that we have had to read the last 7 months about how great these guys are and how they put there life on the line is bullshit. They may make the best effort to put on a great show during a crisis situation to brag about it, and I am sure they are willing to do whatever it takes to defuse the situation, but the bottom line is they are nothing but heartless bastards deep down or they would not have committed the vandalism act and then not even come forward and admit there guilt. If Todd had driven that car with the flat tires not realizing what was wrong, he could have been killed or it could have resulted in an innocent person getting killed and then those guys would have to have some nice gay sex in prison. Manslaughter is not cool.

All the little fundraisers and basketball games and putting yourselves out there as role models ain't gonna work either boys. The more you all promote yourselves as heroes and try to make everyone forget about your wrongdoings just makes you look more brainless and pathetic. The black eye on CCFD has been left boys and no fundraising and basketball games are gonna make up for the crap you guys pulled.

former city employee go whine somewhere else and take your poor todd crap with you, he is a piece of crap just like you acuse others of being. I guess next time instead of slashing tires or paintballs they guys just need to do a good old fashioned butt whoopin on someone who thinks it is funny to push someone to a point where they feel threatened. There are many people who if todd would have pushed as far as he did would have done alot worse then tires and paint. One day he will push the wrong button or person and he wont like what he gets in return. Everyones luck runs out eventually.

I am not threatening anyone either it is a fact that you cant be lucky all yuor life and he was warned and it was siad already that someone is gonna get hurt if he keeps pushing people around.

Besides it dont matter if it was osama instead of todd your only pissed becuaes you dont work for the city anymore.

Just what did Todd do to push these guys???

If someone would quit bitching and just explain what he did to these guys, but you can't. He didn't do a damn thing to anyone of them.

Your right it is a volunteer thing. You have to be dedicated. Not just wanting to ride around with a light and a siren to make your trucks and cars look cool for the girls

It's getting worse every call..

te has run his mouth against everyone in Cave City who has ANYTHING to do with keeping the city up and running. You and everyone else knows this.Of course he had plenty of help and we all know who that was/is.So why keep trying to make him look like a goody to shoes when he and others have tried so hard to tear the city apart. The Mayor, Fire,Police, maint. and even the city clerks have been talked about like dogs, run down, thing taken away or threaten to be. Some have even been stalked by him and his bunch. So don't get on here and even try to ask what todd has done to everyone in Cave City, most certainly the ones trying to keep it going!!You don't come into a city and try to take over and then ask "what has he done"we ALL know the answer to that one!!!!The citizens and everyone all over the country knows!!!!!!

I would like to see half of you join up for a volunteer spot on you local firedepartment and go in burning houses and pull mangled bodies from cars all this after leaving your dinner or your kids little league game to volunteer your time to perfect strangers. I bet there is not one of you idiots on here that would do it for one day. Keep in mind that these volunteers do not live right next to the fire department and are not sitting on the fire trucks waiting for the calls to come in.

It's real easy to sit back and say this or that about a person's job skills. But the real important thing to remember is that the firefighters don't sit back when they are called. They have to up and leave in the middle of important evrnts in their own lives to haul ass and take care of you and your family. Yes they are so good at what they do and even so dedicated to the point that they risk their lives for idiots like you that down them every chance you get.

Former employee asked in his post, "What if" (Oh, Lord, here we go again...) Todd had a flat tire and killed himself. Would you still blame others if Todd had a flat tire and wrecked as he was stalking the Police at night ? Chasing others and cornering them AND THEIR FAMILY in parking lots ?

WHAT IF Todd fell out of his chair while having one of his little fits at the council meetings ? WHAT IF Todd stepped off the curb and broke his neck while trying to hand a citizens personal and private information to a news reporter ?

Who can you slam and accuse and blame for all those WHAT IF'S ? The Fire Department ?? The Police ?? The Mayor ?? The citizens ??

How about you reap what you sow. Know what that means ?

Hats off to all the Firefighters and to their families. You have much to be proud of and the majority of Cave City citizens thank you for your dedication to your community.

you know, just how many times a week does the CCFD make emergency runs where it disrupts there life? How many burning buildings have they been in and come out scarred and mangled and suffered life altering injuries? How many CCFD firefighters have died or been critically injured in the line of duty in the history of CC? I don't know, but I got the feeling that most of these questions aren't going to be answered with heroic responses.

Instead of playing basketball and showing off your trophies boys, have you ever thought about going up to Caverna or Hart County and giving and informative lecture on the dangers of vandalism. Often drunks have to give motivational speeches when they are involved in serious offenses involving alcohol. Have you boys thought of running a TV ad about the dangers of vandalisms and the consequences? Looks like if our so called role models could educate the community on being a felony offender, that would be more rewarding than cooing all over a trophy and bragging about your basketball games.

another note on the response time. Our fire dept. is not in the best physical conditioning. I know when I worked in Jefferson County on a paid dept. we were forced to hit the bench press and tone up so our motor skills would be perfect. This was a paid dept, however volunteers should not get a pass. these guys are in awful shape except for a few that also work in Glasgow. I think Moulder needs a workout program for our fire boys, that way we might get our response time up.

Your first paragraph says it all ! Must be some some very good men on the department that are dedicated and well trained and in good shape cause we haven't had to bury any of them or watch as they are mangled or scarred for life.

How many years should these guys have to keep paying for a mistake they made in judgement ? They didn't even come close to killing anyone with their actions even though a lot of people on here think they should be tried and convicted and shamed for all the what if's that didn't even happen.

People around here want to throw the book at someone who argues with one of their friends but that friend can try to take down a whole town and I never hear anyone say what he should be doing in the community to make up for all the mistakes in judgement he has made lately.

I dont know about much about Cave City but I do know one night when my fiance and I was coming back from BG and there was a terrible wreck on the interstate the boys from cave city were working their asses off to back up park city. I know this because my fiance is a paramedic and they were all working side by side trying to save lives that night. As far as vandalism I would believe that would be up to the police department to go around making speeches and educating them about the law and the consequences.
