just because a police officer shoots a person with a gun does not make me think if i go outside that i am going to get shot. I dont think a woman should stay with someone that abuses her but this seems like an extreme case. Fort Smith is still a safe city compared to a number of cities and i feel safe walking around outside

It doesnt matter where you live, women who are abused are afraid to leave and with good reason. How many are killed or injured. Restraining orders dont really stop men do they. So before you ask a question like why do they stay, why dont you ask yourself how can we help them to leave and make sure they are protected. If you havent been there in their shoes dont judge!!!

LOOK NOW UJOINT177 AND RYAN IS FIGHTING...WOW. OK LETS USE OUR BRAINS HERE, YOU POINT A GUN AT A COP AND YOU WILL GET SHOT...I REPEAT YOU WILL GET SHOT. ONE FORT SMITH COP JUST GOT SHOT, DO YOU THINK FOR A SECOND THERE GOING TO TAKE ANY CHANCES. I FEEL BAD FOR HIS WIFE AND FAMILY DURING ALL THIS BUT HE PUT THEM IN THIS SITUATION. I ALSO FEEL BAD FOR BRANDON DAVIS AND HIS FAMILY, HE DID WHAT NO POLICE OFFICER EVER WANTS TO DO, BUT HE HAD TO. I, ALONG WITH EVERYONES ELSE DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY HIS WIFE STAYED IN AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP BUT I DON'T KNOW THE DETAILS. I BELIEVE THE OFFICER DID WHAT HAD TO BE DONE AND UNFORTUNATELY SOMEONE LOST THERE LIFE. MY PRYERS ARE WITH BOTH FAMILIES.

when you love someone as much as his wife loved him, you think that they will change. i have listened to her cry more times than i can count in the past year. when they first got married he was so good to her. people change and life changes them. i was once in the same kind of marriage and it took me along time to get out. it is very hard to leave when you love someone. he was her life. he was very good to her until he would mix alcohol and drugs, we all know what happens in those sittuations. it turns ugly. they become another person, and that is when things turn ugly. the morning that the shooting happened, she was not only trying to get help for herself, but also for him. not only does the plice officer have to live with this. so does she. eric would have never pointed that gun in his right state of mind.. everyone that knows someone who knows someone that has this kind of an addiction, knows how bad things can turn out. our prayers are with that have been affected by this sad sittuation.

Here's an idea. Don't walk outside with a weapon in your hand pointing it at police officer and you shouldn't have to worry about getting shot.=)

It must be a very difficult thing for his wife and his family to have to deal with. My heart goes out to all of them. And, you are SO right about these types of people not being "themselves" when they're in that state of mind. A person can't help but see the person they used to be and keep hoping against hope that they can get that person back. The devil has a huge playground right now!

the question you have to ask is, with no one in any danger. with officers knowing that Mr. Berry was distraught and armed, why did they choose to esclate the situation? Mr. Berry was a Gulf War, Desert Storm veteran. he was forced to participate in the killing of many iraqi solders. he was trained in the use of firearms. if he had been wanting to kill anyone, officer Davis would not be having his thanksgiving dinner with his family next week. Mr. Berry was NOT a killer. he just wanted to be left alone. only Davis will ever know why he decied to confront an armed man, emotionally upset in his own home who was not a threat to anyone. we can only hope that this person will meet justice in this world. if not, he certaily will in the next.

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Taurus

Are you in listening mode today? Let's hope so because someone wants to bend your ear and they're hoping that you can spare the time and energy for them. Although your first instincts may tell you to give them plenty of advice, try to stop yourself volunteering it unless it's asked for. Even then, you may get the sense that you're really being asked to listen, not talk.
