I'm hoping to get a job with Noranda soon, I was wondering if some of you current Noranda employees could tell me what you think of the place. Also, what is the starting salary?

I've already done the stuff at the career center. I've interviewed and as I understand it I'm now in the pool of people waiting for an opening. Is there anything more I can do to better my odds?

It said bring your children and grand children! I'm sure that it doesn't mean your grown children, some people would show up with 50 guests for the free food if they could get by with it! There is no way that anyone could feed as many people that would show up for it if there wasn't some kind of limit. They aren't going to only let you bring your spouse or 1 child or 1 grand child!! Take your spouse and your children ( not adult children) and take your grand kids!

I know what you mean. I keep hoping to get the call everyday. How long have you been on the list? They told me it was a first come first serve sort of thing.

I've been hearing that. I know a guy that's been there for 30 years that said he'd put in a word for me.

Everyone always says they will put in a good word. Sometimes that is the worst recommendation you can get when a guy already works there. If they don't like him that is a big negative for you. They are already testing and hiring for the college bound students summer work program.

I didn't get a phone call. Do you know if they brought the new people in or not? Hoping they haven't yet so I still have a chance.

You need to apply at the power plant, more money and benefits. Everybody thinks Noranda pays good but the Power Plant pays way better, just saying if you have not got a job yet check them out first.

What power plant and how do you apply?
