They say that they went off performance. If that was so,why did they keep a radial drill operator who destroyed a high dollar header just days before the lay offs? Why did they keep guys that were stealing from the company? If we were doing such a bad job, then Air-X wouldn't have had its best months in history.(Jan.Feb.Mar.)

amen!! well said, i know i didn't complain at all. i loved working for air x and enjoyed working w/ my co workers. like most of us we worked hard and gave our best but obviouslyit wasn't good enough. how can we go from making history for putting out the best months to being layed off. just in a few weeks.

I don't think that tenure, skill, or how often you came to work on time was not the total cause for getting laid off. I would think a lot of it had to do with productivity and what your company worth was. If you worked hard but did nothing but complain about how bad your boss was and brought down moral amongst other employees that says alot about your character. Maybe if you would have done your job not complain about how your boss didn't work (which is none of your concern) you would still be here. You can tell by the posts above who those people are by hoping who got cut and who would need to get out of the office. So if you are setting here reading this and working on your next post to rebut my comments!!! then shame on you, go out and find a job and quit COMPLAINING!!!! My guess is you whine bags voted for obama to. Hey maybe he can give you a job!
P.O.O. Out!!!!
i did not vote for obama and i have been looking for a job everyday since i was layed off i have looked on the internet, went to temp agencies looked in the paper. It's the same story everywhere where just isn't anything out there right now. maybe you could be a little more understanding of why these guys are complaining. we know how hard it is going to be to get a job right now and yes we are frustrated and need to vent.it's not easy to start over. and most of us will take a big paycut, some don't have health insurance right now and have kids at home who may have medical issues. most of us have house payments, car payments and you tell us to stop complaining!! put yourself in our shoes, get the facts of what really happened.

Air-X and Harsco know for a fact that most of us are dependable and hard working people. That being said, instead of laying us off and contributing to the down fall of the economy. Why not offer us jobs at other Harsco companies. Harsco has their hands in almost everything(rail road, shingles, scaffolding, etc. ).Why not offer us a job else where.Or have the bigger bosses take pay cuts.Anyone reading this, take time to go to Harsco's website and see how much even the CFO makes.

If Air-X was hitting record months, making 16 million dollars in one month with no over time, then why couldn't they keep us.I think they just used us to get them where they wanted to be. Then picked and chose their favorites, kept them, and got rid of us.Everyone think back to about the past month about all the changes being made. All the positions being switched around. If you think about it,you'll realize that this didn't just happen overnight. They have been preparing for this for at least a month.

i was laid off along with the rest of you on wednesday. it wasnt anyone from airx that layed us off. it was harsco higher management that got rid of us. there were a bunch of people that got layed off that didnt make since. some were there for almost 20 years. i right now dont know what i'm going to do however i will do something to support my familey instead of being hacked of at airx. be mad at harsco. you know the ceo isnt taking a pay cut or trying to sell off the corperate jet. no get rid of the little people that i controle like puppets.

Although it was Harsco's call,Air-X management still had the final say in to get rid of.And I think that they could have been more up front and honest about it.Not sneaking around like a bunch of politicians and snakes in the grass.(if there's a difference between the 2) However, like my wife told me last night "THat's just corporate business. And there's nothing we can do about it.Just move on."

I feel for everyone that got laid off it is a bad deal. I wish I could do something to help but it is all beyond my control! I must agree that a lot of guys got laid off that really shocked me!!!!! And I am sure there were others that should have gone too kept some of you guys. But what has happened has happened so get out there beat the streets and find work. I know it is easy to say but that is what has to happen. Send me an email address to theobvious015@gmail.com and if I hear of anyone hiring I will send an email to all of you. I know a lot of people in this industry and I will keep tabs on them and let you guys know.

Oklahoma is still an "At-Will" state, regardless of unions...the main reason employers keep new employees on and let the ones go that have been there forever is OVERHEAD! New hires get paid less and they have less vacation time per year... so think about this from the company viewpoint (not that I agree), but is it better to keep the place open, paying less to the newer workers, or run it into the ground, close shop and then never have a chance of MAYBE hiring back most of the people laid off once the economy turns around? p.s. my husband was laid off a month ago, and had been at his job 14 years....

I was also quite shocked when I was called in and laid off from Air-X-Changers last week. However, bad mouthing your previous employer is not going to get you another job. Although I don't agree with the way it was handled, I understood why the cuts were made. Please remember that you were quite happy while you were being paid well and receiving your quarterly bonuses. Also, we all knew one way or another that this was coming as work slowed and people were sent home early. I wish you all good luck finding new jobs, and please remember that no good can come from talking trash. Even though I am one of you, I am choosing to think of the good people I worked with at Air-X-Changers. Did you ever think that maybe some personnel were telling jokes/smiling to mask their embarrasment and paint at having to do this painful deed against so many people?

by the time this news was sent out, the layoffs were already done. they told the employees 5/6 they were laid off, and that benefits ended at midnight. then they held any severance payment hostage until you signed something stating Harsco wasn't liable for anything. any lawyers out there want to comment on this?

Hey guys I will have a website setup for everyone to share any info they may have as far as companies hiring. It will be very similar to this site. I realize a lot of you may want to remain anonymous. I will post the link her later today.

The LAST thing anyone needs is a union!!!!!!!
The union is in it for themselves not for the members.

This place is a real joke !! I was there for over four months and saw many abuses. A supervisor who I shall call , "Andy" <as in the bee gees> was so rude that he loved to yell and make threats to people just bc they had a family emergency and had to leave a few hrs early on a Sat @ that !! To top it off this guy calls himself a "preacher" or something ? Anyways .... long story short , stay away from this place ! I have since found a better job as a CNC Machinist and in a way thank the "Big Gorilla" for sending me home , when I planned on leaving in the first place ..... hahaha.
