I knew I was going to be laid off. When you go from training co-workers, never missing any days to being called to the office for going to get a drink of water. Houston there's a problem! Thanks Bear maybe you can come out of the office now

It will get much worse before it gets better....our nation of consumerism, welfare for bums & illegal aliens, making home loans to people that could never repay, and spending more than we earn is catching up to us...

no they just work for pennys thats why. most of the guys layed off were some of the best workers at air x and the most skilled. how do you keep someone (mexican) who was only there less than a year and let go guys who have been there for 5-10 years. something is wrong w/ that picture.more and more companies are doing that because they know the mexicans will work for hardly nothing

Don't forget that they own the business and it's up to them how they want to run it. If you owned a business you would expect to be able to run it however you see fit. If it means the only way to survive is to keep the cheapest labor, thats what you do.
As long as you work for someone else you put yours and your family's future in their hands. If you EVER think otherwise, you are only fooling yourself.

In Defense to ticked off....I never complained, never was late, was told to cross-train in an area where I was not properly train but manage to be get my job completed. After leaving that area still was having to fix problems. I got laid off on the word of another person (whose grandmother used to date one of the leads)that person kept going to the office saying this and that. This is the main reason why you should have a degree. The news should interview some of air x employees.
Some will tell how you can get written up for going to restroom breaks too long, not talking to a oust tube roller. Maybe If my mom worked there I would have a lead postion too.

We lost some Great men and women, Upon doing so Stop writing these nasty comments. You all should spent your time looking for jobs. Like I said in the meeting, You should have eyes and ears in the news paper.

If Manny Ramirez work for air x, his lead would have told him when the drug test would be giving, he would not be suspended.

all the more reason to have a union. at least then there is some kind of order in how they get rid of people.

just because they were there longer doesnt mean they were a harder worker. hell, seems like the longer they were there the lazier they got. anyone ever work with alfonzo in sections? he was lazy. or how about the doosh that was in charge of shipping the assembled sections. cant remember his name, drove a red corvette. useless. the people with seniority simply delegated work to the newhires. yeah, they could roll tubes good, but thats all they did. never helped with pressure testing, getting the plugs, bringing in the tubes from across the factory,or even sweeping after the job was done. all they did was hang and talk when they werent rolling, and there was a lot to be done in between rolling.

I don't think that tenure, skill, or how often you came to work on time was not the total cause for getting laid off. I would think a lot of it had to do with productivity and what your company worth was. If you worked hard but did nothing but complain about how bad your boss was and brought down moral amongst other employees that says alot about your character. Maybe if you would have done your job not complain about how your boss didn't work (which is none of your concern) you would still be here. You can tell by the posts above who those people are by hoping who got cut and who would need to get out of the office. So if you are setting here reading this and working on your next post to rebut my comments!!! then shame on you, go out and find a job and quit COMPLAINING!!!! My guess is you whine bags voted for obama to. Hey maybe he can give you a job!
P.O.O. Out!!!!

moral was low in that place 2 years ago. thats why i started job searching then and left when i had the chance. i still fail to see how obama is responsible for prot closings. economy was going into the toilet from all the greed of the americans over the past decade. the acting president had no influence on our greed and our we want it and we want it now way of thinking. no matter who is in office the ones that caused this still would have overspent and over borrowed. besides, obama is more on the blue collar side then gw ever was. personally would have been nice to see perot win this one.

In the meeting when we got laid off Bill Sherwood,Lisa Meeks, and Al Riddle came in joking and laughing. They always commended us on being such valuable employees. If this was so how could this be such a laughing matter as they all lead us out the door. We have family and loved ones to support. This is no laughing matter!!!! By the way how is it that if you haven't worked there very long, but have family working there you still get to keep your jobs? This is not our presidents fault. Take your responsibility for this like men (like your MOMMA's would tell you).
