Good, I think DHS needs the crap sued out of them! Even one case of abuse is one too many, especially when so many of these kids are taken away from their parents who are NOT abusing them by crooked DHS workers and traumatized by these abusive foster homes. It's so sad. It just breaks my heart, poor babies.

I worked for DHS for about six months. When I noticed anomalies in various cases, i was terminated for supposedly not being able to do my job. I graduated PSU through the Honors College and with a GPA of a 3.76. i attended the required training sessions for a Social Services Specialist 1, my scores were above average. Every 'seasoned' worker said it would take as long as 2 years to do the job properly. As soon as i noticed the aberrations, I was terminated after two months of completing my required training. i believe it was because I was helping a parent on my client list who had an ADD/ADHD diagnosed child avoid having her child being taken from her. Silly me - I thought that was part of my job description.

DHS has had this coming. NO KIDS should be abused while in custody. It is the state's responsibility to keep these kids safe and they've failed for years so much at this. Our state's DHS system sucks so much. You have people getting assistance that are pulling up to the DHS office at 38th and Sheridan in Navigators and then you have these defenseless kids being placed in homes being mistreated. what is wrong with our backwards state? I am so thankful that this group has taken notice of this abuse and is standing up to do something for these kids. The comment above states that too many kids are taken away from parents that are not abusing them and then placed in homes much worse than what they already were in. The state of oklahoma failed my child and i terribly with a child support case, lord knows how many other parents they've failed with child support, foster care, etc.

Most kids in DHS custody are not abused. But those cases in which the child was abused then something needs to be done about that. If more people would get involved and become a foster parent and care about these poor kids then maybe they would have some good homes to go to.

I understand what you are saying as far as some kids not being neglected while in DHS custody, but do know that the majority of the childern in custody are taken out of good and loving homes with parents that only do right by their kids, but when DHS gets a complaint there is an automatic bias envolved with alot of these DHS workers which makes these workers create a false case to remove the childern from their loving parents and send the parents through the court system over a case built on lies and send the kids through the DHS system which mentally tears apart their minds more than it ever could being at home.

The issue with DHS is that they are not subject to the same guidelines as other law enforcement which allows the organization to make enormous mistakes and not be held reponsible for them.

The reason for DHS is a wonderful ideal but there are many individuals that are employeed with DHS that make it ever-so-hard to trust in them with our kids or with a complaint.

I plead that with this class action lawsuit that the childern can become safe again and will also open cases that DHS has built against the parents just to remove these wonderful childern from the homes for profit and explotation which can and will show that alot of DHS emloyees are not creditible on most reported complaints.

So did you. "the" should be capitalized. As a matter of fact, any word at the beginning of a sentence should be capitalized. You have no business correcting others when you have no idea what you’re doing. You must be another well educated DHS worker.

Some of the DHS workers are dedicated, work hard (including weekends when they are not scheduled) and truly are concerned about the welfare of the kids and the birth parents. Just like any other job, there are good and there are some not so good. I believe it is the DHS system that is broken. They are driven by forms, bureaucracy and too many silos where one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. The system, unfortunately is burning out the good workers. Glad to see this crucial issue is at least receiving some attention.

I'm certain DHS would like the courts to vocus on the other 98% of the cases/children just as rapists and murders would like the courts to vocus on all the other people they didn't harm. One is far too many, no matter what side of the fence you are on.

I was a foster parent in the State of Idaho over a ten year period. 16 children, not all at once, of course. 1-3 at a time. My hardest case was a toddler who had been so badly beaten he was a mute quadriplegic. My most difficult cases involved a 14 year old incorrigible with scars from his neck to his heals from beatings. Two were from a Jewish father who killed himself and his Iraqi wife who abandon the boys. Never did I see ANY abuse of any child in the Idaho HEW system.

However, my son was taken by the Pawnee DHStapo two years ago and has fallen head first on concrete in a play area; I was refused to take a camera on visits when I posted the photos of bruises on his face from a backward fall,[figure that one out] and the last one, a large cut almost two inches long through his left eyebrow. A.J.Campbells comment:“We’ve had him longer than you and accidents happen.” That does not explain the broken arm! Why would the DA send a CASA worker [Tari Hughes] to get x-rays from OSU proving his arm was not broken before DHS took little Elan? Why would they be secreted in his office for over two years? Such lengths to protect DHS. But who cares? Thank you, Northern District Judge, whoever you are.

This woman you mention should no longer be involved with DHS...She had a serious drug problem and was arrested for possession of controlled substance among other offenses. Hopefully she has since detoxed and is off drugs.
