Well how do you get into an altercation where you have to pull your weapon? Did the driver have a weapon, or did he just start kicking arse. Back to remedial training.

I know you shouldnt fight with the POE-LICE, but how serious is a "defective tail light?"

Too many of these cops use that pittly SSA (spelled backwards) reason to mess with people. Then they wonder why the public thinks so very little of them.

Like that Ryan Perkins Jack Ash.

I hear stories like this that sound like the office was going to far. And I can't help but think he was justified.

The whole story is not here. Beside when I hear North side and officer shooting together it is justified in my book. They won't police themselves or try to help themselves, so officers should go in with guns blazing so that they do not become victims themselves. Damn straight pull those gangbangers over for busted taillights and for just looking like they want to speed. GET EM!!! That's what they're paid to do!!! Protect and serve, and if there isn't a place for the scum then bury it, it's cheaper.

Its not about the "defective tail light" arce clown, its about the dumb ass messing with the OHP. You people never see the police side of things just the fact that youwant respect but don't understand to get respect you have to give it.

Of course not having the full story it is hard to judge, but it sounds like the perp may have not been happy with being stopped, and who knows, he may have had other reasons for not wanting to be pulled over, ie, drugs or perhaps a weapon in the car? I'm sorry but anytime you lay a hand on a police officer, get ready for the full brunt of your actions. Good for this cop, he should have shot the guy in the ass as well. I hope they find several warrants for this thug, and keep his butt off the streets. Follow the law people and maybe you won't get pulled over in the first place.

Everybody is saying something about the suspect or the cop. What about the SUSPECT who left a kid in the car. Sounds like a stand up kind of guy.

The OHP probably pulled the guy over for suspecious activity but used the tail light as the reason and I am sure he was justified, I mean come on the guy tried to run with a kid in the car, after the altercation. There is a lot more to this story then what was written.

It happened shortly after midnight and the police were still there (investigating I assume) at 6:30 this morning. Let's not pass judgement until we know the full story.
And I always think of north Tulsa as being north of Admiral (the official dividing line between north and south) and this happened on Mingo south of Admiral.

Funny how that works. It's always those that have been pulled over or arrested that gripe about police. They were wronged. It's not fair. Whine, whine, whine!

It sounds like you have had a run in with the law.You have no idea what goes on in these officers mind when someone ,like yourself is stupid enough to try to fight or run from them ,yes there are some that get out of hand, but they deal with idiots like yourself on a daily basis.

They are trained not to make a kill shot unless absolutely necessary. A kill shot being in the head or chest. Especially if the guy didn't draw down on him first. I can imagine they were shooting for his legs while he was running, so yeah one hit is pretty good. Not everyone can be a sniper/sharp shooter.

Don’t have the whole story, would be interested in the video. Of course, that will never happen unless it 100% shows the officer in the right. I must say though, the officer doesn’t have time to “wait” to have a weapon pulled on him first. By then it is too late. If the officer pulls the weapon and the suspect still comes at him, then he gets to see a bright and hot muzzle flash.
