Seems taking ones own life over a highly debated matter is very selfish. Wonder if he thought of his family and friends any before he acted?

It's a shame that this guy chose to take his own life. But that is what it was, a choice, just like a lot of sad things that people try to blame on someone else. He was already a troubled soul or this would never have happened.
This is still a free country and we all have the right to our own beliefs and we have a right to speak them.

Is there going to be a Heterosexual history month too? Seriously what's the purpose of something like a homosexual month? It's sad this kid took his life but I think promoting homosexuals is shoving it down peoples throats. Who cares what your sexuality is.

This is really ashamed. I hate that this kid felt so trapped that he couldn't find a way out of his grief.
I suspect the agenda to have a gay pride month was not his own, but he was talked into joining the cause by others. They talk them into it without any regard to whether they can handle the negativity that will be associated with it.
I believe much of the negativity comes from the fact that sexuality isn't really something to assign a month to. We don't have a "straight month" so the thought of giving it a month seems foreign to most people.
To the family of this young man I am truly sorry for your loss. I have no doubt he was much more than his sexual orientation and had much to offer society.

Maybe we should have a white history month too.

if he was such a "PRIVATE" young man,,,why was he at a city council meeting airing his personal life. Keep your personal life to yourself,,and you"ll be alot happier.

any loss of life is a terrible event no matter the details...I find it surprising that this apparently sensitive young man went to an open forum meeting open for a discussion of homosexuality, known to be a volatile issue...sympathies for the survivors.............

And of course if he was a straight guy there would have been a slew of heart-felt sorrowful posts. I think the world just needs to leave these folks be, but alas, as long as the thumpers run around en mass seeking to quash out everyone who is different from them be it preference or religious stance, that will never happen. Oddly hypocritcal of the masses. Alot of the flak these folk take are from a group who claim to be repressed but are in fact a majority with far superior numbers. Funny how that works. As stated above, however, the general populous needs to cease giving the gay community a rough time expecially so things like this might become a thing of the past. Im straight myself, but certainly im not one to oppress for different preferences. Takes all kinds ya know?

If your Gay? good for you enjoy it, but don't make me help you feel better about yourself because you can't stand the way you are.
Nuff said, to bad, very sad, he needed therapy he obviously did not get.
wizard? chrissy o'donnell? did you have yourself an altering gender surgery...you should hook up with that jerken guy! you realize that most often, those who are most outspoken against homos are in fact a bit queer themselves. ya might try a little introspection before becoming an activist..or an accidental gay p*rnstar, like HOW many republican officials now? I lost count but they are competing with the catholic priests the best they can.

Some pretty stupid things said here. Who gives a rat's ass if someone is gay or straight. People focus too much on other's sexuality. Too much time on their hands apparently. My sympathies to this family.

How obviously WRONG you are- he is here, and he is made in the image of his maker....if you beleive that all of us are children of God, this young man was just as loved as your RIGHTEOUS A$$$.
Let me ask you this- if you believe it is a choice- what day did you choose to be hetero-sexual- that implies that we are all born bi-sexual, and we pick...what day did you pick- you must know if you picked such as important event as your sexuality? WHAT DAY and WHY??????????
You didn't- none of us do- we are born how we are born. Do you ever read anything- guessing you are one of those 'koolaid' drinkers who only listen to Faux news and all those close-minded, slow-witted- people who tell those of you without an apparent brain, what to think.
If you look at the brain scans of homosexuals, you can see the difference-and there is homosexuality throughout the animal kingdom also. It is what it is.
No wonder our world will explode...no one wants peace, no one wants to live and let live, and all the self-righteous folk just want it to be their way or no way- no compassion- and no sense of 'hey let's put aside all this silly crap!' and work together to solve some of the really important problems- clean air, clean water- enough food to go around...the big stuff!! Who really cares who is snuggleing with who- that is the small stuff...

Sorry for the poor guy's loss, but it's people like those that posted all the wonderful negative stuff on here that have driven him to it. Your such good REPUBLICANS, remember when you had slaves? Remember when women weren't allowed to vote? Remember when it was such a sin for a white and black couple to marry? When are the hicks of this state going to stop the hate and stop mocking our fellow citizens? Then again, people like you end up getting gay offspring. Sad... Now go preach your gospel down at the SOUTHERN BAPTIST CHURCH...

yer mom is bollocks???.......You just told everyone your "A" sexual......lol........what a MORON!!
My vote goes for Hmm and his comment.....we should have a White History Month, and a "WHITE College Fund too!! NOT to forget a W>E>T station on TV like the BET has.....we have stood back too long. I really don't care what people do behind closed doors, as long as they are not hurting themselves or someone else. If the Bible Thumpers who are all Gay and Bi would come out of the closet, theres not a street big enough in Tulsa to have a parade on!!,,,,,,,and THAT, my religious friends is the TRUTH!!

This is not news, everyone who committs suicide does it after something. If you kill yourself it is a decision that you make and for now anyway America is a free country. Every death is tragic in it's owne way. These stories are not news just political speak for those who have an agenda.

So essentially you are saying that people who this boy knew of or about most of his life, sounded off in what had to be a highly negative, biased and uninformed rally against what he held near and quite dear, then removed himself from our plane of existance... and that doesn't make you take a step back and consider what comes out of your mouthes, mouthes that should be uplifting and nurturing to any young person NO MATTER WHAT???? Is this the society we live in where people who are there to lead the way for the future can do nothing but blindly destroy it, one soul at a time? I bet not a one of the council members even cares that they basically killed the dear boy themselves. I guess a time saving tip for next time would be to just equip the council with weapons and tell them to shoot as they see fit. I vote the council be immediately be disbanded on the fear they may murder again... By the way, some of us do make it to the top of our game! So if you are "different', then you already possess more power than the "normal" so run with it!)
