What the heck is the matter with these drivers....I bet texting/talking/etc. on the cell phones. This is just plain stupidity. That is a great highway over there and there certainly should not be this type of accident. The hope the ones that created the wreck are cited and have to pay large fines. Get out your checkbooks....insurance company!!! Call your favorite lawyer. I see lawsuits in the future!!!

This road has needed to be widened for sometime now. Maybe they will listen now, or maybe not.

I was there shortly after it happened this morning. The police or emergency vehicles hadn't even arrived to the scene. That road seems to be getting busier and more dangerous especially since people seem to be trying to avoid the construction in Catoosa. I don't live to far from there and if I had another way to get to work I sure would.

It's the Claremore speedway at its finest!

It's filled with idiots who can barely get the car started without killing someone; yet they think they're the best drivers out there!

Talk about a bunch of people who couldn't care less..........

I drove up on this accident and talked to one of the first responders. He said that all involved were okay, but the guy that caused the wreck was a hispanic dude with no drivers license or insurance and real bad english. hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm?

This is exactly why they need to widen highway 266 to 4 lanes, or at the very least put in a center turning lane.

If you stop to make a turn that takes you across the oncoming lane NEVER turn your wheels pointing the direction of the turn. Some dummy rear ends you and it propels you into oncoming traffic. Always turn your wheels after you begin to make the turn. We need to be smarter to avoid those who are being stupider....is that a word...LOL

I have seen this for 25 years. 266 kills! Either you get rear ended making a turn or those that need to do 80mph pass in opposite lane and cause a head-on collision and everyone in both lanes fall victim. Anyone ever slow down enough on 266 or N46th to notice all of the crosses on the roadside? How do you teach a kid to drive when most of these accidents are caused by driver doing the right thing and the idiots behind or the ones that try to pass kill a lot of innocent drivers. This highway is a death trap because of all the heavy commercial mixed with with the passenger vehicles. Thank God the school bus in background of this picture was not in this wreck. The outcome could have been unthinkable, made the national news and perhaps finally the state would have to figure out how to spend there budget to fix a highway that has killed many over the years. I pray we don't see a photo like this again that involves a school bus. At minimum, 266 needs turn lanes!

I live in Verdigris and drive this road everyday. I have had many close calls due to somebody trying to pass me when making a left turn onto my street. Our neighbor's son was killed two months at the end of our street which is less than a mile from today accident. Every time the police/fire pass by here we pray and check in our loved ones.

When you have cars coming off the turnpike who haven't bothered to slow down, a neigborhood turnoff, and neavy trucks coming the other direction from the port, it's a death trap waiting to happen. I regularly have idiots roar up my tailpipe and pass me on the right shoulder as I wait to take my left turn into my neighborhood. Ironically, the day before the wreck, I had the opportunity to talk to the Verdigris mayor & police chief about this, and they said that while they would like to put in more signs, sow the speed limit, etc, their hands are tied because of ODOT regulations because it's a state highway. The Verdigris polics are often in that area doing traffic stops, but they can't be there 24/7.
I'm a state employee and well versed in the nature of red tape, but it's time to make an exception to the rules, or widen the road, or something. As mentioned above we have school busses going through that area daily, and it's just a matter of time before somebody gets seriously injured or killed. unfortunately, that's about the only way to get ODOT off their butts.
