My ties to the story are the fact that I live in this city and state and this is MY city and state newspaper and MY membership to speak as I wish on MY news site!!! I could care less about whom you married or abused or loved or didn't all I care about is the fact that the scum is eliminating it's self which makes for a better Oklahoma!!! Which (your okey-home comment that started all the posts with me) I am very proud to be!!!

It's a WONDERFUL thing to overcome things but to come on a news forum and act better than some just because they post an opinion you do not agree with isn't ok and the fact you've overcame something does not give you that right either. Every person on here has the right to post on any story they want.

Your so right everyone does have the right to post their opinion. But I think one individuals comment on what I had to say regarding my involvement in this story had very selectivity reading. And just because you live in a city and spend your time writing on all the news that happens in it doesn't make your opinion right.

I only expressed my opinion here because I felt bad that someone as crazy as Rickie had the power to affect a whole lot of people. And even though I had no control over him, his upbringing, or his crazy family I felt that by the family commenting that "Dave the soldier really did the shooting and that Rickie was some great guy" was wrong. I know that clearly that information is wrong, so I thought I would put what I know out there and let people know that Rickie wasn't some pour guy who just had a crazy moment, Rickie was crazy!
What makes me so mad about this situation is that no matter what I said, "Rose" would have something negative to say to me. All I wanted people to know is that there are some family members that aren't nuts, who aren't feeling bad for Rickie. Try being here, having to deal with people crying for the jerk, they even gave him a service.

If you know that others opinions isn't really reflective of what you are thinking and feeling, then don't let it get to you.

An opinion on the happenings of this very sad story is one thing, but unless you have been in this situation, no one should judge anyone. I think everyone has a breaking point.....What is yours? Think about your brother, dad or an uncle that lives a normal happy life and one day you wake up and get this kind of news about them. You never know when you, as a human might "Snap". God bless this family and help them heal.

However, most humans do not snap in such a way. I can see someone snapping and saying hurtful things or taking off to blow off steam, but to shoot someone? The person obviously suffered from demons far worse than "normal".

I totally agree. Whether it be suicide or killing most humans know that death is never the answer.

So, don't get me wrong I am not taking up for his family because they clearly have issues. But, from the sound of this comment you are still in this family. If they are all so crazy why would you still be married into it? With all of the stories that I have read he had a couple of brothers so I assume that you are still married to one of them. Does your spouse know that you are on here talking like this about their relative??? I think he was clearly nuts and the family sounds jacked up but it seems a little odd that you hate this family so much yet you are still involved with them. Is your husband the only one that is sane??

well if you must know I am not married to a brother of Rickie's, Rickie had only one brother but died as an infant. He only has a sister, who was posting comments about how great her brother was. I am married to a cousin of Rickie's, my spouse grow up with him. And we are no longer together, and the root cause of why we aren't together is because of the abuse Rickie inflicted on my spouse.

I read one of the last comments that someone said about how he just snapped, In my opinion I don't think he just snapped, Rickie abused everyone around him. After he shot 'Dave' then he chased down Malissa and shot her, then he waited a bit before killing himself.

What he did wasn't about a lose of love for him it was about a loss of control.

I am David. The one who lived through this tragic event. It's quite amazing seeing all the things people will post without even having been there. The ridiculous amounts of speculations and assumptions is astounding. This was a horrible tragedy which I sadly relive in my mind every day of my life, not a day goes by when I don't think about the events of that day. I am not on here to share the events of that day but what I will say is that it was horrible. More than just the families and myself were affected. There were a few neighbors who will never be able to have a Christmas without having this event on their mind, and to those same neighbors I also take time to say THANK YOU. were it not for their actions the day would have likely ended in my death as well. I ask that people not leave horrible comments on here regarding this anymore. please. there is enough hatred in this world. don't add to it. be better than hate. God Bless.
