It's funny, you won't see Bill Maher criticizing blacks for praying to God (or small g in Maher's world) in their "black churches" for the election of Obama.

No you won't for two reasons.
1. Historical black churches have been the main structure of the community. Before we could get elected dog catcher, we organized via black churches.
2. Black churches tend to be different than white churches. This point was illustrated by DL Hugley when he came on Bill Maher's show. Bush loves to say he is a born again Christian an DL blew up when another panelist kept saying that. Black churches look at white churches as the last racist strong holds. This is backed up by the fact that 11 am is the most segregated time in current American history. Maher knows this too.

I don't see any signs on any churches saying Whites Only. Most churches have signs that say all are welcome.

Racism is over.

If you think someone is worse then you because of the color of hisor her skin, you are now "an idiot" instead of "a racist."

I think people can understand the meaning of "idiot" alot easier.

No the signs aren't there, true, and many chruches have come a long way. Many megachurches are too intergrated to know if there is a majority race within the population. Still there are many churhces that work overtime to exclude anyone that doesn't look like the majority of people of currently attend.

I will only salute the Confederate flag.

Baracky Hussein Obama - will never - ever be my president.

It was extremely refreshing to see the stock market take a tumble today - hopefully unemployment will rise to 12 or 13 %

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

What a sublime and noble dream. So sad that some people are still obsessed with labeling and identifying themselves and others by the complexion of their skin.

After all, what besides complexion does the son of a Kenyan man and caucasion American woman, both with advanced degrees from Harvard, who was raised in a middle-class environment in Hawaii and Indonesia and went on to Harvard himself and riches as a successful author have in common with the people who label themselves "black" or African-American in poor inner-city areas? Yet, he somehow is "one of them".

Here is the definition of racism from webster's - a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities.

Angel's church does that. That's how he/she can speak with such authority on the matter.

Angel. the churches should go out on the streets more often and stop the black on black killings and help the black crime problem. As for people saying that they can not believe obama was elected, did they not believe his promises to help the lower and middle class americans? Hopefully they realize he is also white and used his white culture to win this election. He spoke real american and held his campaign to a high moral ground to impress other americans to vote for him. Obama will bring america back to it respected place in the world. His election will not bring about any special treatment to to the people who do not want to help themselves, nor to those who expect free handouts. I expect some people to be unhappy with him after a year or so in office. His historic election win will unify those who want it, those that don't will continue to be a problem for the american society. Good luck obama, you're gonna need it.

The poster Angel is conveniently ignorant or just plain stupid. If only 94 percent of whitey voted skin color, we'd have McCain. On second thought, I'd rather be embarrassed for 4 years by a Dem than by a GOP. McCain wouldve double crossed his voters over and over again like before. Enjoy it blacks, you'll be calling obama half-white in about a year or so and these tears of joy will be a distant memory. Obama is simply a smarter pol than McCain. he's about as black as me.

I think it's great that a Multi Racial guy like Barrak can be embraced by African Americans. Maybe he can be as good at President as that other Multi Race guy is at Golf . Wouldn't that be something ?
