By Mike Santa Rita [email protected] Posted 3/20/09 Prosecution and defense attorneys wrangled Friday over whether a Baltimore man intended to rob and murder a father-to-be who was fatally stabbed at a Catonsville gas station last year while his wife, who was in labor, was waiting at home for him to take her to the hospital.

Wow! The thug stabbed him because he wouldn't let go of his wallet. The jury isn't deciding whether or not he committed the crime, but rather whether or not he intended to kill the man? This is insane!! Who cares if he intended to kill him or not? He Did kill him! So what's going to happen? This piece of $hit is going to get a slap on the wrist and be out soon to kill again. Then, we'll all be asking- How can this happen? There is no justice!!

This is a common defense tactic used by criminal lawyers in Baltimore. They nit pick the charge and hope the jury will be hung by the bleeding heart. The bleeding heart will not convict on the harsher charge so the rest of the jury will have to convict on the lesser charge or watch the killer walk.

Even if he was convicted he will not receive the death penalty in Maryland and will be paroled in a few months.

Write Martin and thank him for his repeal of the death penalty because he cares so much for life. If he cared about life he would have stopped the killing in Baltimore when he was mayor. I know I wrote him many times about the failure of his campaign promise to stop the murders. I never got a reply except the form letter. It was his platform to get elected and it has worked for him.

Move to Iraq for the safer neighborhoods, better schools and lower taxes because youíre on your own in Baltimore.

I used to go to that gas station until it burned down. My head was on a swivel while I filled up my car. I live in the neighborhood and it goes up and down with the killing and crime. I walk down the street in my neighborhood with eyes in back of my head and I have lived here for 20 years. My wife was in an attempted car jacking and my family was robbed at gun point in front of our house after Easter services one night. It was my fault I was talking to my wife as we got out of our car and was not paying attention. I did not hesitate to give up my wallet. Thatís all they want is the cash.

If you donít pay attention you will be robbed or killed. Itís up to you to watch out for yourself. It was a great lesson to teach my children on what to do since they were there with me when they were young. You fight for your life and safety not your money. I will move from here eventually I just hope I donít wait too long.

Isn't it amazing that the abortion issue and the gay issue and all that other garbage out there has 16 gibillion posts.

I guess one dead father killed the night of his son's birth isn't that big of a deal.

And we wonder why we have problems.

This is the most disgusting thing. What is wrong with the lawyers? for defending the scum of the earth? These sleazebags walk on the flimsiest of excuses! Even the most dangerous of all walk free in our neighborhoods threatening our families and neighbors! And Martin O'Malley wants to do away with the death penalty? We need to get him out of the Governor's House ASAP. He did NOTHING for the city and he is running the state into the POORHOUSE. Thank you very much O'Malley!!!!! You don't even deserve to be called MR! As far as this murder trial- jurors - do you think it matters to his wife and child whether this druggie MEANT to kill her husband?
Give me a break!!!!!!!!!!

I say make O'malley sit in on the trial of this thug and the Patrick Byrers trial.Maybe if he looks them in the eye and see's what a killer looks like and how there sentenced he will get a wake up call.If that don't work maybe he should spend a day in the cell of the killers and see how that works for him
