It seems that the Catonsville 9 are now the heroes, perhaps those of us who served as "murderers" should now be dealt with appropriately and put away. We served our government, they abandoned those who answered their call. Just like now, our politicians declare war, but lack the commitment or resolve of those who serve to "do the job". This is one reason why I have given up on our government and our society.

Those nine and their fellow travellers were and for those still alive, still are, Marxists plain and simple. Did any of them ever demonstrate against any military actions perpetrated by any Communist regime? The invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968 by the Soviets? the invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 by the Soviets? The invasion of Tibet by the Chinese? The dictatorial regime of Fidel Castro? No not once. In fact Daniel Berrigan even made a trip to North Vietnam at a time when Catholic priests and nuns there were being prohibited from practicing their religion. Heroes my arse! Just cowards whose only claim to fame was physically assaulting some middle aged women.

A good story, so much for the victimless crime theory.Although one has a first admendment right to protest it's certainly not absolute. While employed at the Baltimore city Jail during the 1960's I got to know the Berrigan brothers. To traumatize a middle aged lady performing her duties is certainly not an act of courage in the name of the peace movement.

The nine are heroic. The Berrigans are wonderful examples to all who dare to love their enemies and live Jsus' gospel of pure non-violence- which takes more courage than any of you will ever know. War and violence in wrong. It's that simple. Love is right. It's that simple. But it takes guts to back that thinking- guts most war supporters do not have. Are we so cowardly that we need our military to keep us safe after all the bullying we have done? I guess we are- a big nation of cowards.

You really should educate yourselves on all the issues before you post your very small, right-winged, Dixie-land comments.

Oh sure, it took a lot of courage for grown men to go into that office and bully some middle aged women. If that office had been manned by Marine Corp or Army recruiters the Berrigans and their chicken **** buddies would not have gotten within a mile of it. Tell us bumpkins oh wise one, if everybody in this Country had your attitude in the 1940's who would have stopped Hitler and his storm troopers from murdering even more innocent people than they did? You think good intentions would have done it you naive fool? The Berrigans and their buddies were only against the use of military force by the United States. As I pointed out in a previous post not ONCE did they ever protest the use of military force by any Communist Country against their neighbors, i.e. Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Afghanistan. Tibet, etc. etc.
