Frederick Road in Catonsville, postal workers across the country took to the streets Tuesday to protest proposed layoffs and closures, including the shuttering of 41 offices in Maryland and eight in Baltimore.
We must support our local postal workers.
Long before the Postal Service indicated they were running out of money, I wondered why we needed Saturday delivery. Eliminating Saurday elivery makes sense. Closing braches does make sense as you can buy stamps at machines, supermarkets, etc.
I am sorry if jobs are lost. This won't help the economy and will probably not help the Postal Service save much. Don't need a Post Office every few miles.
The Postal Service is a business. Work it like any profit seeking business, Expand your usefulness. Find services that we need. As time goes on less and less mail will be sent conventional ways. That change is inevitable. Prepare for it before it comes. Not years after.
There are great people working for the Postal Service and some bad ones.
Weed out the bad, like the temporary driver that likes to smash into recycling bins, on purpose.
