I have a growing Family (Grandchildren) and need to keep the leaf in my dining room table, which has this wondeful tablecloth on it, only to find out today that you closed. What a shame - another good old product goes by the wayside!

Have you found out where to buy their fabric?

Has anyone found a place to purchase this fabric. I'm looking for fabric to make placemats and napkins as Christmas gifts. Please let me know.

I just found this fabric (tablecloths and napkins) at The Vermont Country Store - and they say the fabric is woven in PA.

I did purchase the largest table cloth I could get from The Vermont Country Store, however when I went to put it on my table at Thanksgiving I found out it was way too short. I have a narrow table, so it must have hung down on the sides about 16-18 inches but the length was too short, so I took napkins and used them on the ends.

You can shorten the width by cutting off the excess and fringing the ends yourself. My mom said she used to do that for an antique table that is an odd length.

I had a very long table once, so bought two long tablecloths which overlapped (a lot, so it wasn't in the middle). It was a dark check so you couldn't tell.

Try The Mountain Weavers at mountainweavers.com
They are in VT. Also The Vermont Country Store carries the tablecloths.
I would like to know if anyone has a source for the tablecloth fabric by the yard.

The cloth from the Vermont Country store does not launder in any way as well as the old Homespun Weavers fabric. The napkins always have to be ironed-boo- anybody found a better source yet?

It's the FREAKIN' economy...also who really shops in the stores on the Main drag anymore? You have Super-Walmart and Super Target stores now...you can run in and grab all the yarn ya need, the luggage you need for that weekend retreat...plus sample food goodies before you do your grocery shopping. All about convenience anymore...it's the world today..nothing more. ROCK ON!

I too have had these beautiful and amazing Homespun tablecloths since the early 1980's. My mother-in-law and her friend introduced me to them and I have several. There is always one on our table and they have lasted through years and years of heavy use. Despite countless drips of tomato sauce, barbecue sauce and ketchup, they still look wonderful and stain-free. Whenever our boys, their friends or anyone spilled, it was always no problem.

I was just thinking I would love to see if Homespun had a green in the large check pattern so I could order one for Spring.

I am so sorry to hear of Homespun closing and I would like to thank everyone in the company for crafting an amazing product. If there is anything on the market that is similar, I would appreciate the contact information.

Thank you again for years of gracing our table!

Such sad news to learn of the closing of Homespun Weavers. I have had tablecloths from HW covering our tables for the past 30+ yrs. Sturdy yet adding such warmth to the room. I have seen the VT tablecloths as I search for various colors, and the quality cannot compare. The weave is not as tight, the fibers not as substantial, even the weight is lighter. I considered the purchase, and then decided not to buy them (tablecloths nor placemats)..they just were not worth the disappointment. My very belated thanks to all associates of Homespun Weavers for many years of thoughtful assistance and a treasured product.

It is how many years later and I am sick over this closing! I had 8 table
Cloths from this store. Tried ordering elsewhere. Pathetic no comparison. If someone finds something please post. Where are we going to get something of this quality ever again?
